Hello I'm kind of reluctant to send you this email,
not because I don't want to but simply because I'm so damn busy...
But I really feel that if I did not send you this to you, your career
could be in grave danger!
I say that because while I was in Vegas over the weekend, I also
spoke at a small music workshop that was being held
there for a few of my top students and I must say th at things are not
looking good for some of you who are artist, singers, songwriters,
and execs in this industry, but YOU have the power to change that
Right Now.
Although this is what I feel *The Best Time* to be an independent
artist or label, a lot of you guys are going unprotected (Not in THAT way,
but it's just as dangerous...)
By unprotected I mean conducting business without the use of a lawyer
or any type of formal contract or agreement in place, which to me is
Just as dangerous as going unprotected the OTHER way, if you know what I
mean, so what I've done is I've had one of the best Entertainment attorneys
in the world put together a collection of music business contracts
just for you, take a look at them here;
http://www.MusicContracts101.com/main2
One of the worst stories that I hard over the weekend was from a "new" artist
who failed to have an agreement in place for a few songs that he wrote
and studio work that he put together... Well that "mistake" ended up
costing him $1.7 MILLION DOLLARS.. Al because he made the mistake of
doing business in this industry without the right "Protection"
One of the most irresponsible things that you could ever do is think that
"It could never happen to me" because at that point you really open
yourself up to take a hit, even if you are just starting out in this
industry.
