Achievement Update with Terry Brock

Is a 40 Hr. Work Week Enough To Get The Job Done?

Business-Building Action from Terry Brock So, how many hours do you really need to put in each week to succeed? If 40 enough? Is it too few?

In this issue of Achievement Update, you get to find out what Sheryl Kara Sandberg, the COO of Facebook has to say that is quite revolutionary to many. She leaves at 5:30 pm to be with her kids.
So, what do you think it takes to succeed? Does it take more than 40? I think it depends. As you might know, I ride a unicycle and find it exhilarating. In this issue I talk about how that has to do with balance.
If work/life balance is an issue for you, this is a quick video (2:44) you'll want to see. Then leave your comments.
Also, I love to hear from you. Send me a tweet on Twitter - @TerryBrock, or leave a comment. I look forward to hearing from you.

Relationship Marketing: Like Real-Life Farming

Business-Building Action from Terry Brock

Relationship Marketing is about building mutually beneficial relationships in business. This has been true for centuries and today's Social Media world only accentuates it.
The reason Social Media is so popular ---- and now used by successful businesses --- is that it works. This is where people live and where business is done today.
I relate this to real-life farming. In this post (which you are going to love!), you'll read about it and see how you can establish, build and maintain profitable, mutually-beneficial relationships by using these principles.
This is one you can read in a couple of minutes and it will help you in your career and your business. Bounce over and take a look.
Also, I've reached back into my archives of really good material, dusted off one of the best and have it sparkling and ready for you. Many have already benefited from this and you get to do it today. Let me know what you think.
I look forward to hearing from you. How are you using Relationship Marketing? What features do you see that it has in common with farming in real life? I know that many people will welcome your comments and benefit from them.
Remember that Relationship Marketing is NOT about the E-Commerce (all the electronics); It is about the R-Commerce (Relationships).
Have a great day!

Business-Building Action from Terry Brock

Getting discipline in your life is paramount for getting things done. I talk about Relationship Marketing and how this matters most in business. To be effective with business relationships, you have to have the discipline to do what you know needs to be done.
Recently I had the honor of talking with Rory Vaden, a multi-millionaire and successful businessman. In this interview, Rory shared with me some of the inside secrets he uses and many others have used to achieve the results they need through discipline.
As you watch this short (5:03) video, you're get some great ideas and also learn about his fabulous book that teaches these principles. The book is called Take The Stairs and it is packed with great ideas. I bought it and have read it twice already. I encourage you to benefit from this as well.

For Business Success ---
Make It Easy

Business-Building Action from Terry Brock

by TERRY on THURSDAY, MARCH 1, 2012

You and I both know that today's world keeps us very busy and we don't want to get into the complicated. When something is complicated, we tend to avoid it.
For you in business, you want to make it very easy for people to deal with you.
Think smooth.
Think easy.
Think fun.

This is the way people gravitate to you and want to be around you, know you and yes, do business with you. The less smooth, easy and fun it is to do business with you, the more they will shy away from it.

This means you also want to make buying from you very easy.
Think about Apple. As I type this, they have announced yet another new, cool, gotta-have-it-yesterday product. We love how easy Apple makes it to use their products. When they have something, we think of many ways that using that iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air, etc. etc. makes our life easier.

Price is a 3rd or 4th consideration. And it is not just about the coolness factor (which is diffidently there). It is about the enhanced productivity we get and things we couldn't do before that make life better.

You also have to make it easy for you to learn and get something done. For instance, I send a lot of personal videos to individuals I know. I do this now because I have experimented a lot with various options. Now I can send a video that is very impressive to a prospect and make it meaningful to that prospect.
This is something that gives me a competitive advantage.
However, I had to pay the price in learning how to do it. Most people will not. I sure hope my competitors are too lazy to try and try and try to get something right. Most people give up after a few failed attempts.

Make it easy in business for people to do business with you. Make it easy in your personal life to learn and acquire new knowledge. Make it easy to connect with important people. This helps for you in learning and getting your job done. It helps with customers as they prefer to do business with people where doing business is easy, fun and value-packed.

How can you make your work more easy? How can you enhance the easy part of working with you? I'd love to hear from you. Let me (and the rest of the world) know by leaving your comments on the blog post.
This week I've made it extra special for you. You can choose between reading the text, listening to an enhanced audio podcast (MP3 streaming or download), or watch a video. Hey, you can experience any or all you want! You're welcome! Enjoy, share this with your friends and staff. I really look forward to your comments on the blog post. Thank you! Here's your like to all the goodies!

Random Thoughts on Video For Your Marketing

Business-Building Action from Terry Brock

by TERRY on THURSDAY, MARCH 1, 2012

We keep hearing over and over that Video is the way to go for social media today blah, blah, blah.
Well, I think it is true. Video is powerful for many reason and can seriously boost your business.
Here are just a few thoughts on an early morning from the hotel room (on the road today again)

Video is better today than ever. Now you get better quality (1080i HD, if you want it), it can look very professional for very low (or no) cost.
Video is widely accepted. In the past I remember I'd often share a video and send it to several thousand people. I'd get a lot of great comments, but inevitably someone, somewhere would write back some snarky statement like Dude, your video really is sucky and doesn't work. Well, let's see here.... thousands of people liked it, the video worked for them, but this one guy had problems so the challenge with the video is..... me??? I don't think so. Today video is widely accepted. You'll see here on my site I often use YouTube. That is the standard for today. You can take the HTML code from YouTube and embed that into your Blog and be assured that a vast number of potential customers will be able to see you. Sweet.
Video makes it more personal. When someone sees you, hears you and can watch between the lines on your expressions and movements (just like in real life), they get to know you more. If you convey quality, compelling content that is relevant to your target market, you will gain followers and devoted fans.
If you're not using video yet, or you'd like to raise it to the next level, look around the Net and start learning. Go to video school by first watching what some of the best (and worst) are doing. Then tailor your approach accordingly.
Just a few random thoughts on a very important subject from my hotel room. Hope you have a great day. If I can help you with video or other marketing ideas, check out my coaching program where I give a lot of information now on the mechanics and the methods you can use. For more information Visit Here.
Have a great day!

by TERRY on MONDAY, MARCH 5, 2012
[EDIT]

I might get in trouble for this, but, I wanted to share with you something that is coming on the iPad 3. It is scheduled to be announced Wednesday

Check out this accessory that I learned about from a way cool bunch of good people at Max Borges Agency. This is a new stylus that will be available for the iPad 3.

That means you'll be able to change the size and style of writing you do. Need to do some sketches, Mind Mapping? You're in good shape now!

This will open up even more possibilities for the iPad 3. Who knows what else is in store?

If you're on my coaching program, call and I'll share some more details that you'll find interesting about this and how it can help generate additional income for you.

Enjoy!

5 Steps for Successful Blogging

Business-Building Action from Terry Brock

by TERRY on THURSDAY, MARCH 1, 2012

Business-Building Action from Terry Brock
Blogging is one of the best ways today to build your presence and influence. In today's fast-paced world of Social Media and crazy schedules, there is an important formula for success:
Influence = Business and Sales
Without influence, you're toast. Done. Finished. With strong influential skills you can build your business the way you want.

A Blog (done right) can enhance your reputation personally and your company's image. Influence is critical in business today, particularly in personal services. You've got to be known as the Go To Person in your field -- on at least one topic. Find that topic, your niche, and live there. Own it. Be that for your buyers. A blog gives you the ability to reach people in a pleasant and contagious way. My friend,
Joachim de Posada, is a best-selling author (over 3 million books sold), a professional speaker and thought leader. As a psychologist, he has a lot of ideas on how to succeed. His blog, Joachim's World is packed with great ideas on growth. Blogging is one of the tools that he uses to build his audience and thus influence and his multi-million dollar personal business. Go To Webpage Now.
You can build your own business by following these 5 steps for successful blogging.

Target the Needs Your Buyers Have -- Forget About Yourself. It doesn't matter what you think is interesting. What matters is what your buyers think is interesting and compelling. Focus on their needs and their problems. Research. Ask. Listen. Help them to solve problems through your Blogging and you'll build a loyal following.
Be Yourself. - This might sound contradictory to step #1, but you want to be personable in Blogging.
Be authentic. A Blogger does best when the copy is not too stuffy and formal, but lives within the confines of decency as defined by your target market. Comedy club and out there activists have a different comfort zone than those in academia or most business settings. Yet, within even academia or the most formal business settings, we're becoming more open and informal in society. Know the limits and operate within the range of what is acceptable, but take risks in pushing it without going over the edge. Difficult to do? Sorry. That's just the way things are today. Use Rich Media. Today you want to combine text, audio, video and pictures. Make it anengaging experience for your readers/listeners/viewers. Use the benefits of video to do things with video you can't do with other media.
Educate with Links. Blogging is about educating. Tie your Blog into other sources through links to relevant sites. This means your readers get even more valuable information from reading your material. Reciprocal links help to create people liking you and wanting to help you.
Like Exercise, Be Consistent. You don't build health by exercising once a month. You've got to engage in a sustainable, regular program to achieve results in health as well as in blogging. Being there is important. Make sure you provide valuable, compelling content that your readers consider must read on a consistent basis. For many, this means a minimum of once a week. Is that too much? Is it too much for the WSJ to publish 6 days a week? It all depends on your market and how relevant you can be.
Go To Webpage Now.
Blogging is a powerful tool that gives you the ability to build your brand, cultivate influence and yes, build your business. It is not easy. However, it is well worth it. I've had the privilege of Blogging on my website since 2003. I also did a lot of
Blogging for the good people at Skype. (click that link to see a great interview with successful blogger, Chris Brogan) Now I'm Editor-in-Chief for
ATandT's Networking Exchange Blog. It has been a rewarding journey and it continues to educate me and help me help others. Blogging requires discipline and creative thought. It requires work, but it is well worth it in the long run.
Go To Webpage Now.
Please leave a comment on the webpage about how you've used blogging and the results you've achieved from it. What has worked best for you in Blogging? I look forward to hearing from you.

Stop SOPA - What It Means To You

Business-Building Action from Terry Brock Yesterday we saw a huge uproar in the US about the proposed SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) that was floating through the Congress. Well, millions of people spoke and it seems to be dead for now. However, there are some basic principles that matter and will affect you if you produce articles, blog posts, books, video, audio or any other intellectual property.

This is a very important post where I need your feedback. Bounce over here and take 2 minutes to read what is there. You'll also find an enhanced-with-extra-goodies audio (you'll love this one!) to listen to and learn more.

If you're an author, a speaker, a blogger or someone who produces any kind of intellectual property, you'll want to invest a couple of minutes to see this from a possibly different view. Then (here's what's really important), let us know your thoughts. What do you think should be done? Do you agree with my position? Do you have a different opinion? Hey, it is all about free speech and I practice it today here.

I look forward to hearing from you and getting your reaction.

Happy New Year! It is 2012 and now is the time to turn your business around and get the assistance you need.

About this time of year, you've probably received lots of Happy New Year greetings complete with nice messages wishing you a good year. That is nice. However, here's something that can definitely help you achieve the goals you have for your business --- and even help in your personal life.
I've taken what we have with the High Achievers Coaching System and cranked it up several levels. You are in for some serious business-building benefits that can help you.
Right now, and for a limited time only, you can get the full year of carefully crafted messages in audio, text and video. In addition to that you'll get specific, step-by-step guides on how to implement Relationship Marketing (I call it R-Commerce).
However, the best part is that when you become a member of the High Achievers Coaching System, you are going to get a full hour of help in 2012 to answer any questions you have about technology and/or marketing. This will be fully customized for you and your needs.
And if THAT weren't enough already for the low price we have on the program, you are going to get a professional-grade review of what you're doing in social media. I've brought in an expert on Social Media who has a Harvard MBA and really knows what is happening for serious business growth in Social Media. You are going to get a focused, specific recommendation for what you're doing in social media from a person who knows social media, helps authors become best-sellers and even helped with a major motion picture in 2011 with their social media.
All this, and more, is yours when you become a member of the High Achievers Coaching System. But this offer won't last forever. Frankly, we can't keep it open for everyone due to limited space.

If you're already a member and choose to renew, you get the same amazing benefits.

You know you've been waiting to get the information you need and jump-start your business. You know that you can't do it alone. Now is the time to make it happen. Find out all the details here. I look forward to seeing you on the other side! See video for more details.
