THE ALL NEW FORD RANGER 2011
Featured Vehicle
When the best Ford engineering minds from around the world were given the responsibility of creating the best Ranger ever, their brief was simple. No compromise. Not only did they have to deliver a Ranger model like no other, they also had to prove it had the toughness, endurance and versatility to take on some of the harshest terrains and climates across five continents.
"Wildtrak's aggressive look and bold new graphics are a perfect fit for those who appreciate a sporty and more expressive image. It will look fantastic transporting the latest quad bike or jet ski for their weekend getaways," - Craig Metros, Chief Designer of the all-new Ranger said.
Unsurpassed Water Wading
When it came to testing the suspension in the new Ranger, the Ford engineers chose one of the world's most unforgiving environments: the Australian outback. What they didn't factor into the already extreme conditions were the heaviest rains in 10 years. Luckily, with key engine components and air intakes positioned high under the bonnet, Ranger had no trouble tackling the swollen rivers and submerged tracks. With a water wading capability of up to 800mm*, All-New Ranger will be class leading.
"The Ford Ranger is one of those vehicles that is capable of tackling the worst off road conditions the average bloke has to deal with. And when scrubbed up, the Ford Ranger looks as good as a "Mills and Boon" millionaire sheik." - Private Fleet.
* Water wading based on 4x4 models and 4x2 Hi-Rider.

Design That Delivers
The challenge for the Ford design team was function and form. How did they give the All-New Ranger a muscular, contemporary exterior, without compromising on fuel efficiency and a smoother ride? It meant putting the All-New Ranger through more than 1,000 full-vehicle aerodynamic simulations using the same leading-edge technology as Formula One teams... And we think that the Ranger's new look and performance was worth it.
"With the One Ford strategy, we were able to deliver a truck with no compromise. The engineering team in Australia had full access to the global Ford capability, testing facilities and most importantly, corporate knowledge around delivery of Ford Tough Trucks." - Jim Baumbick, Ford's Asia Pacific and Africa engineering director.

Double Cab Legroom
All-New Ranger was designed with both driver and passenger comfort in mind. With more legroom in the second row, there will be no more complaints from passengers in the rear and no more knees pressing into the back of the front seats. Larger rear doors in the Double Cab model make it easier than ever for everyone to pile -in and out- fast.
* Double Cab models only.
"Surprisingly the Ranger offers an exceptional drive, plenty of features and impressive load carrying and towing capacities. An inspiring interior and stylish exterior help make the Ford Ranger a weekday work vehicle and weekday driver. Reasonable pricing and fantastic fuel consumption make the Ford Ranger a number one contender for budding tradesmen." - Car Advice.

FORD RANGER TO THE RESCUE
Dealership News
In the lead up to Round 3 of the South Australian State Motor Racing Championship Paul Abbott from AMG Racing found himself in a bit of a dilemma. His tow vehicle was creating problems. It simply just stopped working and they couldn't find any explanation for it. Even though they had ordered some parts from Germany, it would take at least six weeks to get here and that's only if they had the parts in stock.
Time running out and unable to solve their engine problems the AMG Racing team approached Adrian Brien Ford for assistance. Fortunately, we had the PERFECT vehicle for the job... a Ford Ranger and were able to loan it to the AMG Racing team for one week in return for some signage and promotional exposure. Check out the photo that they sent to us below.
Having had the opportunity to test drive the Ford Ranger for one week here is what Paul had to say about it:
"The Ford Ranger is a great vehicle, it's comfortable, powerful and a little more luxurious than what I was expecting." - Paul Abbott, Team Principle, AMG Racing.

- Consider other options--buying a new car may be what you want but leasing could be the best choice for you especially if you expect your transportation needs to change two or three years out. 5 SMART PHONE APPLICATIONS FOR YOUR CAR
Frequently Asked Questions
Apparently the prophecies of a non-human invasion of our planet were all true. We are living in a world invaded by 'technology' lead by a highly intelligent species that we call 'Smart Phones'. From business to entertainment and from communication to now transportation, Smart Phones are accompanying and assisting us in every aspect of our lives.
Smart Phone applications for cars are quickly catching on. It has been noted that an average human spends around 540 hours per year driving. This means around 0.6 hours every day. This is a considerable amount of time and that is exactly what the Smart Phone developers thought. After many successful applications launched by individuals, giant automobile manufacturers also set foot in the Smart Phone arena.

Q: What are some good smart phone applications for my car?
A: The range of applications is diverse and it starts from ones that are helpful to the ones that are pure driving fun. Nevertheless, it is always confusing to find out the best unless there is a list. So, here it is, the list of five greatest Smart Phone Applications for automobiles and automobile lovers.
1. Ford Sync Applink
Available for Android, iPhone and BlackBerry users, this application was first seen in the 2011 Ford Fiesta. Using the Applink you can simply plug your phone into the car and turn it into a Knight Rider. What this means is that the voice recognition system allows you to tell your car to change the music or make calls just by saying so.
2. Take Me To My Car
It is quite embarrassing to admit but doesn't everyone forget where they parked their car from time to time? And we always wish if only cars had a cell phone. Apparently, cars can't own or use a phone but with this app, you can save your current position and next time you start the app you'll have walking directions to your car in front of you! What if you parked your car in a garage or lot? You can use this app as a compass: it displays the distance and the map will tell you the direction.
3. Trapster Speed Trap Alerts
Trapster alerts you as you approach speed traps, red light and speed cameras, accidents and other roadway hazards. Trapster is the world's largest social network for drivers, helping drivers with more than 12 million users worldwide.
4. Auto Repair Glossary
Auto Repair Glossary is an application containing over 700 auto repair and car related glossary items. It is an excellent educational and reference application for vehicle lovers as well as technicians in the auto repair industry.
5. Fuel Mileage Calculator
Given distance travelled and the amount of fuel needed to re-fill your tank you can calculate your MPG or litres per 100 kms. Over several re-fuelings you can also determine how your fuel consumption is affected by your driving habits.

Q&A With Han
Q: How long have you been in this business for?
A: About 8 months now.
Q: What do you like about being in this business?
A: Helping households, freedom and the ability to get out and about away from the office and computer.
Q: What are your qualifications / background?
A: I did a degree in finance and marketing at Deakin University. Moved to Adelaide and worked for the "Good Guys" for about 15 years. I really enjoyed working with technology and electronics and tinkering with different components so that's why I decided to get into this business.
Q: What's a good tip you can share with everyone?
A: If you have a problem with your television signal be sure to call a qualified technician first, there are a lot of products out there that don't work and you don't want to waste your money on that sort of stuff. Entertainment systems these days can be quite complicated and you need someone who has experience and knows how to troubleshoot a wide range of makes and models.
Q: What are you promoting at the moment?
A: At the moment we're installing a lot of antennas because a lot of people are experiencing problems with getting a good reception. With the changeover from analogue to digital it can be pretty frustrating for most people.
Thanks again Han for dropping by!
If you are experiencing problems with your television reception and want someone who can provide you with a competitive rate as well as fast and reliable service please call Han on 0412 012 787 or email skyantenna@internode.on.net.
HALLOWEEN CHOCOLATE CRACKLE SPIDERS
Featured Recipe
Everyone loves a chocolate crackle and on Halloween, if you conjure up these spiders, your kids will think that you are magic!

Preparation Time
Cooking Time
Makes
Ingredients
- 70g (2 cups) Rice Bubbles.
- 120g (2/3 cup) icing sugar mixture.
- 35g (1/2 cup) shredded coconut.
- 1 tbs cocoa powder, sifted.
- 140g copha.
- 20g (1/4 cup) shredded coconut, extra.
- 1 tbs icing sugar mixture, extra.
- 1 tsp cocoa powder, extra.
- 24 red jelly beans.
- 190g (1 cup) dark chocolate melts (Nestle brand).
Method
- Combine the Rice Bubbles, icing sugar, coconut and cocoa in a large bowl. Place the copha in a small saucepan and stir over medium heat for 3 minutes or until it melts. Reserve 2 tablespoonfuls of copha. Add the remaining copha to the Rice Bubbles mixture and stir until well combined.
- Combine extra coconut, extra icing sugar and extra cocoa with reserved copha in a small bowl.
- Place 2 tablespoonsful of Rice Bubbles mixture in each hole of a 12-hole (80ml/1/3-cup) muffin pan. Use a teaspoon to lightly press down. Sprinkle with coconut mixture. Press red jelly beans in each chocolate crackle for eyes. Place in the fridge for 30 minutes to set.
- Meanwhile, line 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper. Place the chocolate melts in a medium heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, stirring occasionally, until it melts and is smooth. Reserve 2 tablespoonfuls of chocolate. Place the remaining chocolate in a small plastic bag. Use a pair of scissors to snip the corner and pipe 8 chocolate lines, about 10cm long, onto the lined tray to make spider legs. Repeat to create 11 more sets of legs. Place in the fridge for 5 minutes or until set.
- Remove chocolate crackles from pan and place, coconut-side up, on a clean work surface. Use reserved melted chocolate to attach the chocolate legs to each spider. Serve.
Notes
- Prep: 30 mins (+ 30 mins setting time).
- Microwave tip 1: Chop the copha and place in a heatproof microwave-safe bowl. Heat, uncovered, on High/800watts/100% for 3-4 minutes or until almost melted.
- Microwave tip 2: Place chocolate melts in a heatproof microwave-safe bowl. Heat, uncovered, on High/800watts/100%, in 1 minute bursts, stirring every minute with a metal spoon until almost melted. Stand for 1 minute and stir well.
- You can prepare these spiders to the end of step 3 up to 1 day.
