LUXURY LOOKS, VERSATILE PERFORMANCE, HYUNDAI i40 TOURER

Featured Vehicle

The i40 Tourer combines emotional design with intelligent practicality. It provides an exhilarating yet highly efficient performance.

European Design

The flowing lines and sculpted curves that create the i40 Tourer's confident and sporty looks are based on Hyundai's 'Fluidic Sculpture' design language and developed by Hyundai's highly regarded European design team in Russelsheim, Germany.

Overseas model shown.

"Coming out of Hyundai's German design studio, the swoopy looking i40 Tourer is one of the better looking wagons on the market right now. It follows through with a family Hyundai look to the front complete with a hexagonal grille and eagle eye headlights. The interior is modern, stylish and functional leaving many Japanese contenders in its wake." - Cars Guide.

Spacious Interior Full Of Technology

Through the use of advanced design, the i40 Tourer's well-appointed interior is extremely spacious, offering outstanding levels of leg and shoulder room for all occupants. From the driver's seat, every instrument, gauge and driving indicator can be viewed at a glance, while the ergonomically designed controls are all logically placed for ease of use. The use of the latest technologies makes the driving experience comfortable and convenient for drivers and passengers.

The electrochromatic interior mirror included in the Elite and Premium models automatically dims when it senses headlight glare from following vehicles. The Premium model also incorporates LCD screen for reverse camera operation.

The audio system allows hands-free mobile phone use and enables direct streaming of music from any Bluetooth® compatible mobile phone or media device. The i40 Tourer comes equipped with a comprehensive high-quality audio package as well as connectivity for iPod® and MP3 player devices.

# The Bluetooth® word mark is owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. Bluetooth v2.0. Supports Hands Free Profile (HFP) v1.5, Object Push Profile (OPP) v1.0, Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) v1.0 and Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) v1.0.

iPod® is a registered trademark of Apple Inc.

i40 Tourer Premium model shown.

"On looks alone, the Hyundai i40 Tourer is a winner. It's also loaded with more luxury kit than most Euro cars costing twice its price, and the leather and materials used throughout the cockpit are as good as, if not better than, those used by the premium Japanese automotive marques." - Car Advice.

Australian Tuned Ride And Handling

The i40 Tourer features a new MacPherson strut front suspension setup which significantly reduces cornering lean and improves overall handling. A multi-link rear suspension setup is used for its outstanding ride characteristics.

Amplitude Selective Dampers (ASD) are standard across all trim levels on the i40. These suspension dampers provide a smooth comfortable ride under cruising conditions, whilst providing superior vehicle dynamics under demanding driving conditions.

Extensive local tuning of the suspension setup has been carried out to optimise the suspension for Australian conditions.

"On first impressions, the local tuners can pat themselves on the back for a job well done. The i40's ride is smooth and supple, and consummately handled most of what we threw at it." - Go Auto.

The Hyundai i40 Tourer is here so give Craig and the team at Adrian Brien Hyundai a call on 8374 5444 to reserve your spot for a test drive today!

STARS ON CARS PROMOTING SAFER VEHICLES

Dealership News

We are very excited to announce that Adrian Brien Ford has recently been selected to participate in the Stars On Cars project. An initiative of the Government of South Australia, Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure to promote the purchase of cars with very good crash test ratings.

The ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program) tests new vehicles under controlled laboratory conditions to determine how well they protect occupants in a crash. Each car is then given a rating out of 5 stars depending on its performance in the crash test. The number of stars the car scores reflects how well it is designed to protect the occupants. For example, each additional star rating provides around 12% more protection against a serious injury in a crash.

The Stars On Cars program encourages dealers to display star ratings on all 4 and 5 star rated cars in their showroom and lots.

"A five-star car is about roughly twice as safe as a one-star car and the advent of technology is going to help save a lot of lives if people can buy a five-star car. If they can look at that when purchasing a car, it's going to have a big impact on the fatalities in this state." - Road Safety Minister Tom Kenyon.

As part of the Stars On Cars program Adrian Brien Ford staff will participate in a training workshop conducted by the Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure. Relevant promotional and education materials will also be displayed in our showroom so be sure to give Luke and the team at Adrian Brien Ford a call on 8374 5444 if you are looking to purchase a road worthy, reliable and safe vehicle today.

THE DANGERS OF BUYING CARS FROM PRIVATE SELLERS AND HOW TO AVOID THEM

Tips And Tricks

Recently there have been a number of news reports (Fairfax County USA) regarding fraudulent car adverts, according to a police press release:

"In three separate incidents, interested car buyers responded to online adverts, co-ordinated a time and place to meet the purported car seller and when they arrived, two males approached and demanded money. At least one suspect displayed a gun."

So here are five tips to help you avoid the dangers of buying from a private seller:
  1. Co-ordinate to meet in a public place. If you meet in a public place then the chances of something bad happening will be minimised.
  2. Meet during the day time. As above, if you meet during the day time, there is less chance of something bad happening.
  3. If a price sounds "too good to be true", it usually is. Be realistic about what you want and how much you are willing to pay.
  4. Try not to go alone if possible. If you go with a friend or family member you are less likely to find yourself in a compromising situation.
  5. Consider purchasing from a trusted and reliable car dealership. In the long run considering the time and hassle of looking through private sellers as well as the lack of after sales service and support. You may find yourself a lot better off knowing that you have purchased your car from a company that has been in the business for many years and is able to provide you with extended warranty, service and support.
Now is a great time to purchase a new or quality pre-owned vehicle. Be thorough with your research, weigh your options and stay safe.

SPEEDWAY, SPEEDWAY, SPEEDWAY!

Staff Profile

This month's featured staff member is Adam Briggs. Adam spends 6 months a year working for us as an Auto Electrician and the other 6 months of the year as a Speedway Racer. Speedway is where they race bikes around a dirt oval. To complicate things the bikes have no brakes, they accelerate faster than a Formula One car going from 0 to 100 kms in 2 seconds and they spend most of their time leaning sideways.

Adam is currently ranked number 4 in South Australia (long track class). Is a local rider for  Gillman Speedway in Adelaide and travels interstate and overseas to compete. Having competed at the Mildura Speedway as well as the Milden Hall Speedway and the Rye House Speedway in England as part of the Milton Keynes Club. You can learn more about Adam below.

Q: How did you get started in this business?

A: I applied for an apprenticeship as an Auto Electrician back in January 2007 via Adtrans and fortunately I was accepted here and started my apprenticeship the following month. I completed my apprenticeship in February of this year. As part of the apprenticeship I was also chosen to participate in the Chrysler Accelerated Apprentice Program which allowed me to travel to Melbourne and undergo some further training.

Q: What do you like about working for Adrian Brien Automotive?

A: I get to work on a wide variety of makes and models as well as a diverse range of clients. It's a busy environment and I'm always learning something new because there are always new models being released and new technologies to learn.

Q: Do you have any tips for someone who may be interested in getting into the business?

A: Make sure that you have a very good understanding of electrical and mechanical components. A sound understanding of maths is also important because you will need to work out formulae and apply them to your every day tasks.

Q: What are you promoting at the moment?

A: I had some experience working with the new Hyundai i40s, ix20s, i10s and Velosters recently when I was in England working for Tilberry Hyundai in the Docklands (Essex) so I'm looking forward to seeing a few of those come down the service driveway.

ABSOLUTELY FIRST CLASS

Featured Customer Review

This month's featured customer review is by Robert from Cape Jervis who recently took delivery of a new Hyundai i30 manual diesel. Robert and his wife have purchased four Hyundais, the others being two Terracans (one of which they still have) and an Excel.

Of particular interest is the fact that Robert has been in the automotive scene since 1960 and that he is a current member of the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers which means that he really does know when he has experienced good service and when he has not. You can read his review in full below.

"On the twenty-first day of September, my wife and I took delivery of a new i30 manual Diesel. This machine is our fourth Hyundai, the others being two Terracans (one of which we still have) and an Excel. Approximately three to four weeks ago we visited your Dealership when the contract to purchase was signed. Since that time the sales consultant with whom we negotiated the purchase has demonstrated outstanding care for our welfare as we have proceeded through the purchase of this vehicle. His conduct within the showroom was exemplary, showing a gentle concern for our needs as he guided us towards the sale. I do admit that we were going to buy an i30 anyhow, but David made the whole process so much easier and he met our requirements perfectly. We left the dealership that day quite happy with what we had "achieved". The process did not end there. During the time it took for the vehicle to be brought over from Sydney, cleaned, pre delivered and to have accessories fitted, we were contacted no less than four times to let us know what was happening. We believe that the way in which David handled this sale was absolutely first class. I have been in the automotive scene since 1960. My father was a Volkswagen dealer and I did my apprenticeship there. Later I joined TAFE for a period of 26 years. I am still a member of the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers. I have had a keen interest in the way vehicle sales consultants react to various customer demands for many years. My wife and I put certain demands on David and he produced an outcome suitable to what we were after. I would ask you to please thank him wholeheartedly on our behalf." - Robert from Cape Jervis.
