THE PETER COUCHE FOUNDATION NEW HOPE FOR STROKE REPAIR
Featured Not For Profit
Stroke is the leading cause of disability in Australia with more than 250,000 people estimated to be living with the aftermath of strokes. In Australia there are 60,000 strokes a year - one every 10 minutes. It is estimated that stroke has a financial burden of $AUD2.4 billion per annum and an immeasurable effect on the afflicted patient and their family.

Peter Couche is a remarkable man who is determined to make a difference for people who have suffered stroke. While on a business trip to Singapore in 1992, Peter suffered an irreversible brain-stem stroke. Peter was a highly successful Australian stockbroker based in London and father of three. Peter's stroke left him a quadriplegic with - "Locked-in Syndrome" - he can't speak and has little muscle control but has an active and alert brain.
Peter persevered for 13 years to write his book Lifelines. His book is a record of his inspiring story and his struggle for a normal life, away from the mind-numbing world of institutions. Lifelines is also an account of the hope provided by non embryonic stem-cell therapy.
In association with the Robinson Institute and the University of Adelaide, Peter has established the Peter Couche Foundation to raise funds to support the Stem Cell for Stroke research of the Robinson Institute. This research provides hope for brain repair treatment for stroke damaged brains. Peter also aims to raise awareness of stroke, particularly that useful life does not end just because you have suffered a stroke.
In September 2010, Peter was awarded the Pride of Australia medal for courage. The medal recognises his determination and strength of character to overcome personal adversity.
The Peter Couche Foundation's main fundraising activities include the "Don't Speak" campaign and a Cocktail evening.

YOUR DREAM CAR
Featured Customer Review
This month's featured customer review is by Roger who helped in the purchase of a car for his daughter Megan. Congratulations Megan on the purchase of your new vehicle and thank you very much for choosing Adrian Brien Automotive!
Wanted to thank you, on behalf of Megan, for finding her "dream" car.
She is rapt and I know it wasn't the easiest of requests to fulfil.
Our experience with yourself, Ben and the rest of your team was outstanding, and would be happy to recommend Adrian Brien to anyone.
My wife has her eye on the IX35's so early next year (when the lease runs out on the current car) we will return.
Once again thanks for your help.
Cheers
Roger"

WHAT IS YOUR CRITERIA FOR HANDING OUT SPONSORSHIP DOLLARS?
Frequently Asked Questions
We are often approached by not-for-profit organisations, charities, schools, sports and community groups regarding sponsorship so here is some information about what you should consider when applying for sponsorship.

Q: What is your criteria for handing out sponsorship dollars?
A: This is a great question that we often get from people seeking sponsorship money. Recently we have identified four main criteria that we use in choosing whether or not to approve sponsorship requests:
1. Staff engagement - we have found over the years that the best results come from partnerships where there is an Adrian Brien Automotive staff member who is actively involved in the organisation.
2. Local presence - ideally the organisation must have a local presence that is within a reasonable distance from the dealership. We often prefer to sponsor organisations that are based in the Southern Suburbs because that is where most of our clients reside.
3. Internet presence - an internet presence these days is very important for any business this means that you should have a website and ideally a good presence on social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Plus and YouTube.
4. Membership database - as an organisation you should have a database of members and communicate regularly with your members to ensure that any sales offers or promotions are properly endorsed and get a good response.
This is just a guideline, ultimately an organisation that can present us with a good business plan and show us that they understand our business and want to contribute to the success of our business will be highly regarded.
