Week
This week I attended another
amazing Red Tent event. It was a
great opportunity to connect with some wonderful ladies including
Lyndsey Baigent from Essentially for Women.
Lyndsey
was in town on her way to a speaking engagement, and will be back in
Melbourne with the Essentially for Women team for her two day event on
2-3 May. I'll be there, so make sure you take a look.
I'm also really excited to
share that I've been asked to be the HomeBizChicks.com
resident technology expert. With the launch of Savvy Web
Women pending, this is an amazing opportunity.
I'll

Many people I know work in what you would call a "regular" job, usually
for someone else, making money for someone else.
Two questions I like to ask are: "if money was not an issue, what would
you truly love to do? What are you really passionate about?"
For many, they have to stop and really think about these questions, as
they have never been asked before. Many do not have an answer. For
those that do, they are rarely doing it right now.
Ever noticed how really successful people are REALLY passionate about
what they do? For them, it is a joy, never work.
So, I put the same questions to you. Once you have your answer, follow
your passion.

has been your biggest challenge in business and how did you overcome it?
Changing my mindset from that of an employee to a business owner.
Thinking like an employee only served to hold me back and to keep my
business a hobby. Once I realized this and actively sought to change
the way I thought, that I started to grow my business and achieve my
goals.

2 If
you had to start your business again from scratch, what would you do
differently?
I would write out my business plan at the beginning instead of three
years into my business and I would have systemized and written
procedures for all aspects of my business before I took on any clients.

do you admire and why?
Kathie Thomas of A Clayton's Secretary.
She started her business with five young daughters and has gone on to
create an international network of Virtual Assistants and has
celebrated her 15 year in business this year.

4 It
takes a lot of determination and dedication to succeed in
business. What keeps you motivated?
My family. I decided to start my own business so I could dictate my
work hours and be home for my children when they got home from school.

5 What
are your 3 biggest success tips?
1. Find a mentor - someone you
trust and someone who knows your industry. Pick their brain and then do
it!
