I got the break I wanted

Dear

We've purchased a really great new system which will automate a lot of our processes and give us a much improved members-only area. Unfortunately it needs a lot of work to get up and running and is really zapping our resources. I seem to spend every spare minute working on it. At the same time, my girls (aged 4 and 10 months) have both been sick quite a bit recently. As soon as one gets better the other seems to fall ill. The poor little things have been running fevers and just want a cuddle from Mum. I can't remember the last time I slept for more than 4 hours in a row and I am exhausted. All I have been doing is moaning that I 'need a break'.

I got my break on Saturday. I broke my toe! I now have my foot in plaster; I am on crutches and have to 'keep my feet up'. So I am on the couch, resting and 'having a break'. I have plenty of work to do and lots of long-awaited reading that I could be doing, but I'm too groggy from the pain killers. There's nothing for it, I just have to watch rubbish TV.

You'd think after all these years in coaching I would know better than to whinge and moan and demand that the universe gives me a break!

Coaches can be like plumbers with leaky taps and manicurists with chipped nails. We know what we 'should' be doing, but we don't always do these things. We need reminding that self-mastery comes before anything else. If you are not walking the talk and using your coaching skills for your own self-improvement first and foremost, then it is unlikely that you will create the foundations needed to inspire and engage your clients. A lesson I am personally learning this week!

So, I am looking forward to having some rest, but more importantly, to getting back into it with a renewed vigour for what I want to achieve; to create the best Coaches Resources Library in the world. Even if it takes up all my energy to do it!

If you want to renew your vigour then have a look at our recommendation below for 'The Great Life Redesign'. This newly-released coaching book is written by our very own Master Coach Caroline Cameron and is published by Wiley & Sons. It debuted last month at No. 75 in the best seller list and is steadily climbing. This book references many coaching tools and techniques and will be widely read by your clients and by Coaches alike. If you want signed copies for you or your clients see the review below for details on how to order. Or you can buy it from the book stores where you'll find it sandwiched between Richard Branson and Stephen Covey.
Best wishes for your continued coaching successes!

» The Great Life Redesign

Life on today's treadmill is fed by a daily infusion of bad news media stories and society's expectations, yet the popularity and plethora of lifestyle programs and self-help books show we're all wanting something more. Conditioned to struggle, we aren't taught how to find contentment or appreciate what we have.

We're more time poor and discontented than ever, working longer hours, taking fewer holidays and being reachable 24/7. Productivity is lower and absenteeism is higher than ever, we spend more time and money on commuting than ever before and our health and relationships are suffering.

In The Great Life Redesign, Caroline Cameron (Master Certified Coach and ANZI Coaching's Coach of the Year, 2011) not only helps you identify how 21st-century living is impacting you, but what you can do to change your life for the better. Whether you need to make minor changes to make instant improvements or undertake a major life renovation to realise your dreams, Caroline's wealth of experience will help you get clear about what it is you want, how to plan for it, afford it and make it happen. It really is quite simple to achieve and The Great Life Redesign will help you reshape the life you have into one you'll love.

With practical, easy-to-apply techniques, exercises, tools and tips - including your own life redesign blueprint & a Thrival Kit - plus more than 30 inspirational case studies, you'll soon be well on your way to a great life. As a coach, you'll recognise many of the approaches Caroline presents and The Great Life Redesign gives you new ways to use them with your clients.  Whether it's time to take a dose of your own 'coaching medicine' and redesign your life or as a useful resource for your clients, this is a book you'll easily relate to.

Don't settle for 'good enough' - you only have one life, it's time to make the most of it.

I just wanted to congratulate Australia & New Zealand Institute of Coaching (ANZI Coaching), not only for the great ongoing education it supplies but also providing the opportunity for business which was an added bonus.

I have been a coach and a member of a few coaching organisations over many years that actually promote business opportunities as part of their benefits; which have never materialised. All of my business has come from referrals or my own marketing activities.

Thank you so much for your continuing support to our industry Sally and team, as you have not only provided the benefits you stated when I signed up w ith you earlier this year, you also provided something others claim and yet I've never experienced. That is what I call GREAT customer service! Mags Bell, QLD

I love the Coaches Resources Library. I cannot believe how much content there is and how much vaue you give to us coaches. Your webinars are brilliant. Thank you ANZI Coaching for being such a great support to this profession. Jamilyn VIC

You pick up where the coaching course finished. Its great to have the help to build on my new coaching skills to turn them into an income (or as i see it - a reality!) Michael Bishop, VIC

Its worth every cent just to meet the other coaches. Everyone is so friendly and supportive.Jennie Lewis, VIC

ANZI Coaching has never promised any business opportunities as a member and yet provided the first opportunity I've ever had, recently, as a member!

Thank you again for organising such a monumental event. It was the most amazingly informative and collaborate conference i have been to. I felt proud to be a part of such an amazing profession and such a wonderful inspiring community. I felt a great sense of belonging. As a result i happily joined ANZI and can't wait to help championing the regulation and professionalism of the industry with you.Nina M, Vic

I'm on a few mailing lists for other coaching bodies and organisations. I've noticed that one started offering Supervision and another are now offering weekly webinars (which they upload to their members area)...neither do things so well as ANZI Coaching does them!  And they charge much more!!!! Mason T, QLD

Supervision was just brilliant tonight. Thank you for a great event. I learned more about my coaching in the last 60 minutes than I have learned all year!
Lorriane, NT
