New Email Format

Hi, -- The mail list manager service I use has a new editor for the emails I send to you. So please be patient while I get used to it. The header on my last email said it was just a sample, but obviously it wasn't. If you click the logo above it links to my website.I think overall it will be better than before. It encourages me to create an abstract with a link back to my website for the full article. I can follow that or just put the entire message in the email.I'll do what ever the majority of you would prefer. So, when you see the "Read More" link, that's a link to the Apple-Investor blog where you can find the full article. The link below goes nowhere, so you don't have to click on it.Thank you.

Sample Article Headline

Hi, -- Apple, the single most loved stock in the world, the epitome of how a company should run... blowout earnings quarter after quarter, beating the street, beating analysts. The most valuable company by market cap; if it were a country it would be ranked in the top 20 in the world by GDP. Is Apple Falling, is Apple subject to the failings of the Eurozone, is Apple dropping because of Greece??????.

It's seems that JPM had a rogue trader nicknamed the London Whale, went Moby Dick when he/she though to bet that the recovery was well under way and inevitable. All I can say is that, I can't believe this comes from a risk manager!

It's interesting that no real names were named in the blunder, leading one to think that it was either the brain child of someone influential, or it was like I suspect, a rogue trader. Either way JPM has some serious blow holes to fill.

Unfortunately it put a damper on what appeared to be some market momentum that had developed over the past few days, where we bounced back from morning lows three days in a row with impressive rallies.

The shows of strength gave some hope that US investors could shrug off the European debt woes that have plagued the Eurozone and world markets.

The report of the blunder was released after the market was closed on Thursday evening, sending bonds higher. This was exasperated by a poor economic report from China, indicating that the Great Wall of communists pretending to be bigger capitalist than the US, might be in need of serious repair.

Today will be a very telling one. If traders here in the US can find another rally in themselves, it may bring some renewed confidence to the world markets. I mean, with all this bad news one would think the equity markets would be crushed, but they're hanging in there.

And speaking of confidence, we'll be getting the Consumer Sentiment report on how consumers are feeling about the economy later this morning around 9:55 AM EST. Overall the trend for confidence has actually been peaking lately, although analysts are expecting little change from last month's high water mark.

If it shows a poor number, expect equities to get hit and bonds to get pumped up going into the weekend. Cuz no one knows what to expect from Spain, Greece, France and all the other socialist weenies over there that would rather suck on the government's tete than put in a hard day's work and pay their debts.

But I have no real strong feelings on the matter.

Europe Gone Wild - Market Update for Wednesday May 9 2012

Greece has greased the skids of Austerity. In a socialist populist move, the new Greek leadership is promising to halt talks of austerity and raise Greek citizens pensions, and increase spending, and bring back early retirement and tax the rich, effectively retracting international credit agreements that have taken the past 30 months to put together.

This may ultimately lead to Greece leaving the Euro and returning to the Drachma as their primary currency.

And then Spaniards catch the anti-austerity bug and want free stuff, as they've decided to move away from austerity talks too. Seems no one is willing to take the necessary but bitter pill, and do what is necessary to get spending under control. Just keep pumping the free money to the citizens, they don't need no stinken austerity!

And France is cheering their anti-austerity ways on, farting in the general direction of Germany... can you believe it?

Of course this has sent all the world markets spinning, making a double dip recession all but a certainty, if the new brand of socialist leaders get their way. Although, the US markets don't seem to be hard hit. It seems traders and investor here in the US are tired of it all, and basically turning thier backs as they have better things to do than argue with a bunch of spoiled children.

Man, how stupid can these people be?

How will they get out from under their insurmountable debt? By Spending more?

I thought that unbridled spending was our privilege alone, I mean here in the US, where our world reserve currency status allows us to screw everyone else by printing money with no recourse. Who are these Europeans, thinking they can steal a move out of our playbook? Geeze!

But alas, it looks like the new Greek leader has bitten off more than he can chew and is unable to put together the coalition he needs to reject German lead austerity.

Let the riots begin!
On another note, a reminder...

I'm conducting an online class Thursday afternoon on How To Create a Day Trading Strategy, with a strong focus on risk and money management. Attend the webinar and you'll learn a money-making strategy and how to create a first class trade plan.
