GDP Better than Expected - Market Update for Wednesday February 29th 2012
Sent Wednesday, February 29, 2012
Well, here's some good news to go along with the bull market...
The US GDP came in better than expected, reported to be 3.0 percent When the consensus was 2.8 percent. That's an increase of 0.2 percent from last quarter and a 1.2 percent increase from last years third quarter reading at 1.8%.
So I guess the economy is going in the right direction. There's still a lot of work to do, as you need at least a 5 percent growth rate to overcome unemployment. But we should be happy with […]

Apple - When Will the Joy End
Sent Wednesday, February 29, 2012
Apple is the most valuable company on the planet, and just a little over a decade ago analysts predicted death for the iMaker. But today, Apple is bigger than both Microsoft and Google combined. If Apple were a country it would have the 20th largest GDP in the world!
The amazing thing about Apple's meteoric rise, is that from a valuation perspective, Apple stock is still cheap, with a trailing PE of 15 and a forward PE of 11. These are the numbers of a growth company, yet with a […]

Warm Weather Keeps Shoppers at Bay - Tuesday February 28 2012
Sent Tuesday, February 28, 2012
Major retailers have been experiencing negative pressure these past few months with weekly sales declining for the third straight week, as reported by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) this morning. This past week saw a significant decrease in sales of 1.0 percent compared to the previous week.
And Year on Year sales have experienced a decrease in sales as well, from 3.2% to the current 2.7%. This can't be good, although the ICSC blamed warm weather in February […]

How to Achieve a Guaranteed 75 Percent Win Rate
Sent Tuesday, February 28, 2012
How would you like to go to the casino and play a game that guarantees you a 75 percent win rate? You would? But why, do you think that would be fun?
This is not a morality quiz, this is a straight up question. What if you could trade a stock that whichever direction you chose, long or short, you would profit 75 percent of the time? No strings, no gotchas, just a statistical guarantee that if you executed the transaction enough times, you would win 75 percent of the time.
Oh, of […]

Leap Year Profits - Market Update for Monday February 27 2012
Sent Monday, February 27, 2012
If it's an election year, then it's a leap year, meaning that February has 29 days instead of 28. And with the strong performance of the Nasdaq and overall markets, fund managers and other institutional traders want to end this extra-trading-day month to look as good as possible on the balance sheets.
So, my forecast for the markets, even in the face of very overbought conditions, is that the big boys are going to do what ever they can to prop up this market wight into the close of […]

The Pain Continues - Apple (AAPL) Update for Thursday February 16 2012
Sent Thursday, February 16, 2012
Apple had a monumental breakdown yesterday, right after a historic ascent to break the 500 barrier and shot up intra-day to 526! But as the trading day got closer to the close, Apple showed some weakness, and then it plunged more than 30 points into the close, blasting through what was, or at least we thought would be, 500 support.
In the after hours it kept falling, and this morning Apple (AAPL) opened down even more, with it's current level trying to hold on to 490! Wow! What a […]

Market Manipulation - Market Update for Wednesday February 15 2012
Sent Wednesday, February 15, 2012
Every time I see a blog headline with the word manipulation I think to myself...self, oh boy, here we go, another cliche rant on manipulation. I'm positive they do it because their user open rate is getting low. If there was one headline word that causes a market oriented person to open an article, it's the word manipulation.
It seems to be human nature to blame someone or something else for our own mistakes. We are pre-disposed, no, we are compelled, to hear some scathing reason […]
