Where In the World Are Coleen and Bob?
(And Just What Are We Doing?)

We're celebrating Bob's birthday (the 22nd), Christmas, and the start of the New Year in southern Georgia. Pigeon Forge, with Dollywood and all the shows, was a busy time of go, go, go -- fun, and some wonderful sights, for sure. Now, we need to settle for a while. We're at our friends' farm, It is quiet, and our view overlooks the pond.

Bob and I hope that you are having a wonderful holiday season. Merry Christmas!

Wherever you are in your travels -- and however you celebrate these winter holidays -- we wish you joy and prosperity,
Coleen

State Park Gift Shops Offer a Bonanza of Gifts for Campers and Outdoorsmen

When I think of state parks, I think of great views, reasonably priced camping, historical events, and outdoor activities. An email I received from the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism proposed another idea: do your holiday gift shopping them. I'd never thought about doing my Christmas gift shopping at a campground store until I received that email. It sparked my curiosity and I checked out the gift shops of some other state parks.

RVing and Camping Tips - Frosty Windshield Warning

There's a cold weather tip floating around the Internet that advises spraying your windshields with a mix of water and vinegar to avoid frost. It goes on to say that there's something in vinegar that prevents it from freezing. That is not true; vinegar does freeze. I left a tub full of groceries in an unheated area overnight and the next morning, the only thing that had suffered from the freezing temperatures was a gallon of vinegar. Even though it wasn't a full bottle, the vinegar burst the plastic jug and made an awful mess.
