Fall is here and for me that is always bittersweet; I just love the summer weather yet there is something refreshing about the changes in the season and fall especially brings me right to “getting back at it” again. My travel to clients picks up and I feel renewed as together we start to work on the
business instead of just in the business. I know most of you spent the summer months with full schedules, staff vacations, etc. trying your best to accommodate the demanding schedule the summer months bring. Now it's time to switch gears a bit and change the focus to the last quarter of the year.
For me as a I reflect back on the summer it was a busy and productive few months and we have lots of good stuff planned for the fall. I am excited to
share some big wins for us!
The Fonseca OMS series released a new 3-Volume set, 3e 3rd edition and I am so proud and humbled to be a contributing author to this edition. I wrote the chapter on coding and billing and insurance. I know this is the “go to” resource for so many clinical topics, so I am happy I was able to share my knowledge from the practice management side as well.
Also
published this summer is a book I co-authored with Dr. Jonathan Jundt, Dictations and Coding in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. We worked on this project for quite some time and it is a tremendous resource for anyone looking for templates and guidance on how to document operative notes. Coding suggestions are included as well.
For the second year in a row I was also asked to write a chapter in the CDT 2018 Companion
Guide published by the American Dental Association. This book is a fantastic tool for offices across the country with lots of FAQ’s and explanations to help you better understand and use CDT.
Last but certainly not least, I spent a few days in the recording studio prepping
our 6 hour coding seminar
"Untangling the Web of OMS Billing" and it is now available for purchase online! It was quite a project
