Not only is the Helmut Pfeifhofer Porsche Automuseum the only privately owned Porsche-sanctioned museum in the world, it’s actually in the same building that the very first Porsches were made in, the fabled production run of 52 early “Gmünd” 356s. I went to get the story of this special place, and it held
more than just a few pieces of aluminum inside. |
PCA—Join us for the Porscheplatz at the Continental Tire Monterey Grand Prix at the WeatherTech Raceway, Laguna Seca. September 8 and 9. The Porscheplatz tent will be the hub of activity for PCA members and Porsche owners at the races. There will be presentations by Porsche Motorsports North America and Porsche GT team drivers. Other activities include Porsche team garage/paddock tours. Mobil 1 and Michelin will also give presentations. Special
drawings will be held both days, including ones for "Hot Pit Experiences". "Hot Pit Experience" winners are given the exclusive opportunity to have a personal tour into the hot pits during the races. You can also just relax in the tent, enjoy a cool beverage, and watch the races via live feed TV.

There are over a million potential used factory 911s to choose from, and yet the choosy 911 fetishist is presented a choice of myriad manufacturers and tuners prepared to refresh, restomod, or utterly reimagine a 911. Motor1—After recently seeing a pair of nearly undisguised next-gen Porsche 911s in red and blue (see below), a new batch of pictures adds a white example to the group. Once again, this one has decals over the headlights and a few strategically placed pieces of tape, but otherwise, this is what the new coupe looks like. |
Stanceworks—For most, the term "Hot Rod" likely conjures images of classic American iron. Maybe a '30s coupe, a chopped top, and fat wide tires, or perhaps something more modern, such as a big block-sporting muscle car from the '70s. "Hot Rodding" has grown to encompass many things, but most importantly, it represents an ethos: an amalgam of self expression and a quest for all-out

Road & Track—To send off its three-time Le Mans-winning LMP1 car, Porsche has built the 919 Hybrid Evo, a high-downforce machine designed to break lap records. And it's already broken its first. With factory driver Neel Jani at the wheel, the 919 Evo ran a 1:41.7 around Spa Francorchamps this morning, breaking Lewis Hamilton's pole-setting 1:42.553 lap record from last year. | | |

The Drive—A few years ago, Porsche sought to improve its dealership experience and create new incentives for car buyers to switch to its brand. The result was a handful of Experience Centers around the world that let anyone (minimum age dependent on location) with a valid driver's license and a stack of cash drive a Porsche model of their choice around a test track. Stuttgart's gamble has paid off with a quarter of a

Our group met early at a coffee shop in Neptune Beach, ran towards Mayport with an out-and-back on the Wonderwood Expressway, caught the ferry, and then traveled north to Fernandina Beach. After a nice stop for coffee, sandwiches, and lots of car talk, we made our way back to Jacksonville. On the way back we found a spot for this drone picture of our cars."
