| | PCA—Eight months ago Porsche introduced a new generation of the 911 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but there was something conspicuously missing, the base Carrera. That’s no longer the case as the automaker announced the Carrera and Carrera Cabriolet yesterday, joining the S and 4S models. All-wheel-drive Carreras will be announced soon, according to
Porsche.

PCA—After the whirlwind of members prepping for concours, the welcome party, the concours itself, and then the concours banquet, the first half of Porsche Parade in Boca Raton, Florida gave way to
time-speed-distance and gimmick rallies, tours, two days of autocross, various seminars, and that’s just scratching the surface.

Membership in PCA is not required to participate in this celebration of Porsche automotive engineering. The IMSA WeatherTech® SportsCar Championship and IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge take over Road America's four-mile circuit for what will be one of the most incredible weekends of sports car racing

| | Autocar—It is a measure of the way the wizards of Weissach go about their work that this new GT4 is not the quickest Cayman on sale. Despite its new 4.0-litre engine, despite it being the first mid-engined Porsche to offer more than 400bhp (Carrera GT and 918 Spyder hypercars aside), if you look at the numbers you’ll discover that, thanks to offering more
torque lower down and offering the option of a paddle-shift transmission, a humble GTS can be configured to be quicker to 62mph and no slower to 100mph. Criticised though they are, you can’t say those turbo motors are entirely without merit.

WHSV—Madison Automotive Apprentices, or MAAP, won big at the annual Porsche festival in Florida. The James Madison University organization worked on a 64 Porsche 356 donated by a couple in Charlottesville.

To honor the beloved racecar's golden anniversary, Porsche paraded a number of 917 variants up the hill at Goodwood, highlighted by the
appearance of one of the only road-legal Porsche 917Ks in the world.

The Drive—It seems this is the summer for some genuinely incredible automotive-related artifacts to come out of hiding. Earlier this month, we saw a portion of Elvis Presley’s private car collection surface, which will be auctioned off for the first time ever in history. Now, RR Auction in Boston is listing some
never-released photos of James Dean’s horrific and fatal car accident in his Porsche 550 Spyder.

| | Too Fab—Alex Rodriguez gifted Jennifer Lopez a beautiful Porsche for her 50th birthday, the only problem was J.Lo hadn't driven a car in over 20 years.
In a video posted to the former MLB star's YouTube channel Monday, Rodriguez documented how he pulled off the exciting surprise for his fiancee.

Autoblog—The 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid may have lost the S in its name, but its performance potential has actually been increased from its predecessor. The name change, or letter deletion, comes from Porsche's decision to better define this plug-in hybrid’s space within Cayenne lineup, making it less of an outlier.
It now highlights its performance advantage over the base model but acknowledges the supremacy of the non-hybrid S.

Motor1—After sampling it across the pond, the 2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid has arrived in the U.S. to disrupt the traditionally horsepower-based hierarchical order of submodel trim levels. With a peak output of 455 horsepower from its 335-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine and 134-hp electric motor, the
$81,100 E-Hybrid houses 21 more ponies than the $3,200-pricier Cayenne S.

| | Petrolicious—Judging by the number of Porsche specialists out there offering to update, remake and generally redesign classic 911s, we may well be heading towards a future where these retro modded variants outnumber the originals. This one from Ateliers Diva Targa is the latest to enter the market; a hand-built carbon fiber-bodied machine styled to resemble
the early narrow body 911s.

Autoweek—Nearly 30,000 people have written deposit checks for Porsche’s all-electric vehicle, the Taycan. With a few more buyers, about 5,000, it could overtake the 911. And the car hasn’t officially been revealed yet. That happens in September.

| | Road & Track—IMSA racing is some of the best in the business, and last week's Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park was one to remember. In the movie, the character of secret agent Rex Dasher drives a white Mission E. The German premiere will take place in Munich on August 4.
