PCA—So you watched Risky Business, Scarface, and Weird Science back in the day and fell in love with the 928. Now, several years later, you are ready to park one in your garage instead of in a poster on your wall. No surprise, Porsche’s V8-powered grand-touring car is one of the best-kept secrets in the collector car world — but the word is getting out! So, what do you need to know before jumping in?

PCA—Back in February, when Tech Tactics East was held at Porsche Cars North America’s East Coast training facility and parts warehouse, Rob Ida and his stunning custom 1986 911 Turbo were scheduled for a presentation to hundreds of PCA members in attendance. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, he could not make it. Fortunately, Porsche Panorama had plans to photograph and film the Turbo for an article and a video.

PCA—Building on the success of the inaugural Vintage Race Group at the Potomac Region Silver Anniversary Club Race at Summit Point last year, PCA Club Racing is pleased to announce the four-event schedule for 2017. These vintage races will be run at four regional club-racing events. Vintage cars (1983 and older air-cooled Porsches) will practice, qualify, and race in a separate run group all weekend.

PCA—In the ’70s, Porsche was looking for a sports car that could take the fight to Japanese automakers. The result was the short-lived 914 that was designed by Porsche and had an engine from Volkswagen. The vehicle wasn’t exactly popular, which caused production for the car, and the more powerful 914/6, to come to a halt in 1976.
 
PCA—“Do you have any Porsche cars?” I asked the grizzly old-timer behind the counter. “I have most of them, but I’m always looking for something rare.”

You see, I am a collector of Porsche vehicles. Sports cars, race cars, sports utility vehicles, anything with the name Porsche on it.
