PCA—The rule of thumb when buying a Porsche is always to spend your money on the nicest car you can afford. Look for detailed service paperwork, ownership chain history, and, if applicable, a Carfax report. All of these things will tell you a lot about the car you are buying.

PCA—A popular PCA member benefit is The Mart, the club’s classifieds section online and in each issue of Porsche Panorama. Mart Fresh is a bi-weekly column in which PCA media staff pick what they think are the "freshest" Porsches currently available, and then attempt to explain their reasoning. Up this week are a 1996 911 Carrera, a 2009 Cayenne GTS, and a 2010 911 GT3.
Jalopnik—Renowned automotive artist Nicolas Hunziker likes to ring in each new year with a quick vintage automotive-themed painting to celebrate the occasion. This time he’s chosen to depict a scene of Porsche’s famous 1968 911R sprinting past the pits while a member of the crew holds up the pit board.

Automobile—The track is still moist in spots, the marbles on both sides of the racing line shout “caution,” and the maintenance squad has begun to steam clean the roadside drainage system. Tension is in the air as we approach today’s subject. Only three people have driven this car so far without a watchdog in the passenger seat. I’ll be number four.

PCA—The world-renowned 56th Rolex 24 at Daytona is scheduled for January 25-28, 2018 at Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, Florida.  PCA welcomes all PCA members, Porsche owners, and their guests to the PCA Car Corral Hospitality Tent, located trackside infield at "The Kink" (Turn 5). There will be interviews with Porsche drivers, product demonstrations, programs, and updates from Porsche Motorsports North America. Don’t miss your chance to win one of the special drawings, such as a guided Hot Pit Tour during the races. (Must be present to win, 18 years of age or older.) You can also relax in the tent and watch the races on large screen television monitors.

Jalopnik—It took Porsche the better part of a decade to complete the inimitable 959: twin-turbo, all-wheel drive and unbelievably fast. But the company had been beaten to the punch, by a lone Finnish man with a very yellow 911, 4WD and as quick as an F1 car.

Petrolicious—For this week’s installment in our Made to Drive film series, we packed our bags and tripods for a trip to the midwest where we met up with Matt Euson and the Singer-restored Porsche 911 that he’s been wheeling around his home in Indiana.

PCA—Werks Reunion in Amelia Island is scheduled for March 9, but to put on a show, we need your Porsches! Vehicle registration for display and judged Porsches is open.

Smithsonian Channel via YouTube—For over 100 years, Porsche has built exceptional gas-powered cars. But as fuel economy moves to the forefront of consumers' minds the concept of the sports car must be reimagined. Their answer: the Porsche 918 Spyder, the first true hybrid supercar.

Digital Trends—Since 2006, the Porsche Cayman has gone where the 911 could no longer venture. Iconic, revered, and, with each passing year, more viciously fast than ever, the 911 continued to move upmarket to fend off an increasing number of sports and super sports car competitors. Eventually, an opening formed beneath the 911’s transcended performance. Here, Porsche planted its compact, mid-engine contender.

InsideEVs—In 2018, Porsche will decide whether to grow its crossover lineup by adding stylish coupe-like variants of the Cayenne and Macan. The company is still investigating whether there’s enough volume to justify creating the variants.

Motor Trend—Even among enthusiasts, confusion about the new Porsche 911 Carrera T continues to roil.

Road & Track—Porsche stunned the world two years ago with the debut of its all-electric Mission E sedan concept, later promising it'd go into production in 2020. Today, we're getting our first look at a Mission E prototype testing in public near Porsche's development center in Weissach, Germany. So, what better time than the present to compile everything we know about Porsche's first fully electric car.

The Truth About Cars—Porsche has had more than a few victories in motorsport, so we’ll allow their latest PR move as an appropriate homage to successful racing campaigns of yesteryear – even if the liveries are applied to a crossover. It would be much better if Porsche had slathered this paint and stuck these decals on a bevy of Caymans or 911s.

Road & Track—Porsche claims that when Peugeot raised a hand about the trademark issues surrounding their original 901 designation, they already had the 9, the 0 and the 1 numbers cast in volume, ready for series production. So, in order not to waste their gold-plated badges once they have decided to honor the French request, Porsche simply used a pair of 1s to end up with 911.

Porsche of the Week
Photo by Dr. Hilary Stuart-Williams. Upper Canada Region. "The car is a 1976 Porsche 911 (aka, 911S). My wife and I bought it in Sydney, Australia a few years ago and spent a good deal of effort to get it running smoothly. I now know CIS better than my job. I try to drive it out of Canberra every few weeks, and here it sits in sheep country along the Sutton Road in New South Wales."
