1. Porsche Announces Most Powerful 911 in History… at the Video Game Expo

The Truth About Cars—Porsche unveiled its most powerful production 911 in history and not exactly where you’d expect. Dodge saved the unveiling of its much-teased Challenger SRT Demon for the New York International Auto Show, so where did Porsche choose to present the new GT2 RS? The Electronic Entertainment Expo — the world’s premiere video game convention.

2. Porsche Overcomes Hour-Long Repair to Win Le Mans

Road & Track—With Toyota setting a lap record and taking pole by nearly three seconds, many expected this year's battle for the overall win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans to be little more than a formality, a coronation for a Toyota program that has patiently waited for its turn to win here since returning in 2012.

3. How did a Porsche 911 GTS Club Coupe wind up in ‘House of Cards’?

PCA—After the airing of Season 5, Episode 10 of the Netflix series “House of Cards,” Porsche forums and chatrooms everywhere began speculating as to how a relatively rare, 911 GTS Club Coupe in its distinctive shade of Club Blau wound up in the show. No, the showrunner didn’t buy one, the answer is quite simple: The vehicle wrangler for the show called PCA Executive Director Vu Nguyen, problem solved.

5. Barnfinding: Bullet Holes

PCA—I grew up down South, so I am well versed in Southern culture and all the peculiar stuff that goes along with it. But I've lived in New York for almost 20 years now, so sometimes I forget.

A recent trip to Virginia brought back some of this Southern fun when I picked up a 356A coupe that had bullet holes down the side of it. I guess it could have been a Bonnie-and-Clyde vehicle, but chances are it sat in a field where some folks thought it would be fun to exercise their right to bear — and discharge — arms.
