PCA—Concours d’Elegance, the French phrase for “contest of elegance,“ is a type of car show you’ve probably heard of, if not experienced. Think Pebble Beach or Amelia Island, where the rarest, most valuable cars in existence gather
to be judged by experts on the hunt for dust, modifications, and missing parts — anything that isn’t original. Well, the Los Angeles Region of PCA has a concours of its own, and while it may be lower key than the aforementioned concours, last Sunday event had no shortage of classic Porsches, including one of the most significant Porsches ever.

PCA—The Porsche Club of America (PCA) will hold Treffen North America, a biannual club event, in Asheville, North Carolina, September 20-24 at the Omni Gove Park Inn. After two successful events in fall 2016 and spring 2017, the third Treffen will be hosted in conjunction with the Asheville-based Appalachian Region (APR), which is the newest of PCA’s 143 local Regions.
PCA—Icons rarely offer an encore. Why should they? Everyone knows their hits, and singing them again and again gets laborious. The 993-generation 911 sang its last air-cooled song in 1998 as the world shed a tear and bid the “real Porsche” farewell. Since then, many owners and enthusiasts of the marque have cherished the 993, often leaving it well alone from the cutting wheels and racetracks that met the metal of many unsuspecting 911 Turbo and SC models.
