PCA—“Is that really a Porsche bike?” asked a young, spandex-wearing cyclist.

“Why, yes it is,” I replied.

Yes, Porsche has a bicycle. In fact, it has an entire history of bicycles, of which we’ve begun to scratch the surface on PCA.org. They’re not mere toys, but serious efforts constructed of lightweight aluminum or carbon fiber. I wanted to ride in a 54-mile bike race, and I wanted to be the first person to do it on a Porsche.

PCA—Since last week, a flood of 911R road tests have hit the web, and rather than feeding them to you piecemeal via PCA's weekly email newsletter e-Brake News or our social media channels, find out how the 911R drives from several sources all in one place. We've decided to compile all known road tests of Porsche's latest — and arguably greatest — enthusiast-oriented 911 right here. PCA—Werks Reunion, the premier Porsche event during “Monterey Car Week,” is back on August 19. The concours and car show at Rancho Cañada Golf Club is free to spectators and will have a field of up to 1,000 Porsches, with 924/944/968 and 928 as the featured model ranges.

Rennlist—Silverstone Auctions estimates this survivor race car will fetch between £475,000 and £575,000 when it hits the block on July 28th. That’s big money, but this car will likely attract big interest. So what makes it so potentially valuable? For starters, it's one of only 17 924 GTRs that Porsche built to compete at Le Mans in the Group 4 class.

Road & Track—As long as the Panamera has existed, there have been constant rumors of Porsche building a coupe version as a successor to the classic 928. Obviously, that didn't quite happen, but there's a version of the Panamera that was as close to a modern 928 as you can get.

Road & Track—Was I supposed to take this picture? I'm not sure to be honest. Our phones were taken away in the body shop section of Porsche's Leipzig factory, but given back at their cutting-edge quality lab. And there she was, a prototype of the long-wheelbase Panamera, accidentally I guess. But short or long, what's under that body is way more exciting. (Ed.: The picture above is not the one mentioned in the first sentence, but a look at Porsche's MSB platform as it will be used in the new Panamera. Bentley will also benefit from the Porsche-developed MSB platform. Click the link below to see the picture in question.)
 
Car and Driver—Porsche wasn’t the first to apply turbocharging to production gasoline engines. GM had done it a decade before with both the Chevy Corvair and the Oldsmobile Jetfire. Which, in fact, means the 930 was actually the second production turbocharged flat-six. But while GM quickly abandoned the idea and didn’t return to it until the 1980s, once Porsche adopted turbochargers, it never let go.

(PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche 911, Boxster, and Cayman sports cars, Macan and Cayenne SUVs, and the Panamera four-door sports sedan line-up in the United States, announced June 2016 sales of 4,482 vehicles today, which represents an increase of 6.9 percent compared to June 2015.

Engineering Explained via YouTube—Don’t put the transmission in neutral when you come to a stop. There’s no need to do this. You may think the clutch will be partially engaged and wearing out, but the system will be sure to disengage the clutch (while keeping first gear pre-selected).
