PCA—Sports car enthusiasts may rejoice, because the manual transmission lives on in the revised 991-2-generation Porsche 911 GT3. Drivers may once again opt for three pedals and a six-speed gearbox to make forward motion from a powerful naturally aspirated flat six.

PCA—Porsche announced the Sport Turismo variation of the Panamera today, ushering in the first fast “wagon” in Porsche’s history (excluding the Porsche-developed Audi RS2). The Panamera Sport Turismo initially comes in four flavors — 4, 4S, 4 E-Hybrid, and Turbo. No mention of a Turbo S E-Hybrid variant yet.
PCA—Like the
classic Steve McQueen movie Le Mans, big-time catalog auctions often seem to be a battle between Porsche and Ferrari. The Ferrari market seems to have cooled down for the time being, but there’s little sign at the moment of waning interest in collectible Porsches. The Amelia Island consignments at RM/Sotheby’s, Gooding and Company, and Bonhams reflect this and consist of some of the most exciting Porsches to hit the market in quite some time. Here are five that are among those we’ll be
watching.
Rennlist—What’s the first thing that comes to people’s minds when they hear the word “Porsche”? Most certainly think of low-to-the-ground sports car, racing machines with big wings, and the like. Technically they’d be right, but they also don’t know the darker side of Porsche—the rally racing hot rods.
PCA—Treffen North America continues
with Treffen Hill Country near Austin, Texas. The event will feature luxurious accommodations, fantastic drives, and exotic “foodie” delicacies in addition to a reception at Circuit of the Americas. Read

The Drive—Acura/Honda's NSX is an interesting case, using new-age hypercar hybrid tech in the super/sports car field. In order to determine if the new tech allows the super Honda allows it to compete completely on-par with the traditional turbocharged benchmarks in the form of Porsche's 911 Turbo and Nissan's GT-R. Jethro Bovingdon takes all three cars through a series of tests to determine
which of them is actually the superior steed.
Road & Track—On May 28, 1983, a lucky confluence of events allowed for one of the greatest driving performances we'll ever see. Stefan Bellof, a 25-year-old racer from Germany, drove a Porsche 956 around the Nürburgring Nordschliefe in 6:11.13, a record that stands to this day, and one that doesn't look like it'll ever be topped.
The Drive—Last week Ruf teased us with a short press release promising an all-new from-scratch in-house design built entirely from a carbon monocoque. Taking them at their word, we imagined a wild low-slung two-seater, perhaps in the same vein as a new McLaren.
MultiBriefs—In 2015, people owned their new cars an average of six-and-a-half years, a full two years longer than in 2006. The average age of cars currently on the road is about 11.5 years old, IHS Automotive reported.
Car and Driver—For those of us who are constantly on a passive hunt for vintage cars and trucks, rust can be an annoyance, a potential deal breaker, and even a killer of classic cars. It can eat away at an automobile’s exterior, weaken structural elements, or just bubble up seemingly at random.
Motor Trend—Credit where credit is due: Porsche does well at making the most of any given model. Take the 911, for instance—one car, six variants. The Cayenne, too, is one model with four variants.
Robb Report—Alongside Interstate 405 near the gravel piles of Southern California’s industrial South Bay sits the new Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles (porschedriving.com). It’s a 53-acre playground for auto enthusiasts, beckoning those who crawl by on the freeway with its modern glass structure and oasis of green lawns ribboned with fresh asphalt.
Road & Track—RUF, the German Porsche tuning company turned manufacturer, is most famously known for its CTR Yellowbird, a heavily-tuned 911 that could decimate anything else on the road or track in its era.
The Drive—Geneva's 2017 Auto Show is packed with big Porsche news, but none bigger, at least physically, than Mansory's new widebody Panamera. Where Porsche just recently fixed all of the ugliness of the Panamera, Mansory is there to muck it all up again if you should like to do such a thing.
The Drive—Right after Porsche made the controversial decision to turbocharge its entire 911 model range, the wünderkind engineers in Stuttgart blunted the blow with another, happier announcement: The company would produce an ultra-limited-edition, lightweight 911 R with a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter six cylinder, rear-wheel drive, and 500
horsepower.
PCWorld—Ooh. Shiny. When Porsche Design unveiled its Book One at Mobile World Congress, Microsoft’s premium Surface Book finally had a rival for Best Trophy Laptop—the one you buy not because you need it, but because you can afford the best.
