PCA—After the airing of Season 5, Episode 10 of the Netflix series “House of Cards,” Porsche forums and chatrooms everywhere began speculating as to how a relatively rare, 911 GTS Club Coupe in its distinctive shade of Club Blau wound up in the show.

PCA—Right around the time I took the job as Porsche Panorama editor, I realized that my Porsche ownership experience has been appallingly single-minded — five 911s and a 912E. I’ve never owned a water-cooled Porsche before, so it seemed logical to start at the beginning with the first one.

Road & Track—The millionth 911 isn't a particularly interesting car.
Strip away the Irish Green paint, the various Porsche Exclusive visual touches, and the badge indicating this car's order in the 911 lineage, and you're left with a Carrera 2S with Porsche's optional Powerkit. So, it has 30 more horsepower.

Motor Authority—The Porsche 917 is one of the most iconic race cars to have ever set rubber on a racetrack. Its power, prowess, and capability are recognized to this day. Its flat-12-cylinder powered the 917 to victory at the 1970 and 1971 24 Hours of Le Mans.

But before we drive it in a few months time there's the passenger ride in a prototype manufacturers like us to do. Normally we say no, but we'll make an exception for a car with over 600bhp.

Motor1—Air-cooled Porsche 911s are becoming increasingly expensive. One collection sold for $6.3 million at auction – or about $780,000 per vehicle. Another well-worn RSR, meanwhile, went for $2.25 million. For those of you not looking to drop nearly seven figures on a air-cooled example, why not opt for this water-cooled 996 with a healthy dose of modifications?

Motor1—The Dieselgate saga is, apparently, not over yet – following Audi’s problems with the German government from last week, now Porsche is facing investigations in its home country. Germany’s KBA motor transport agency is reportedly inspecting whether the sports car manufacturer is using steering wheel movements to detect when its cars are being tested for emissions.
