PCA—The Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK held a very special surprise for Porsche enthusiasts today: Porsche officially debuted the new 911 GT2 RS, a 700-horsepower track-oriented yet street-legal turbocharged 911.
PCA—Form has generally followed function in the Porsche world. It’s not as though the cars haven’t been consistently beautiful over the years, but Porsches aren’t fashion
accessories.
PCA—“When the top goes down, the price goes up” has
been a staple of auctioneers’ banter since the beginning of collector car auctions. With a few notable exceptions like the 1963 split window Corvette coupe and the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing, it almost always held true, that the convertible was always more valuable than the coupe, even when—in the case of cars like the Jaguar E-type—the coupe was undeniably prettier.
PCA—The 356 was built from 1948 to 1965 in six major types: 356/2 (“Gmünd”), 356 ("pre-A"), 356A, 356B (T5 and T6), and 356C. To the eyes of a non-enthusiast they are nearly indistinguishable. All have a striking resemblance to an upside-down "bathtub." Water-cooled Porsches of any model have little in common with a 356 other than the Porsche script font and, depending on the model, a
horizontally opposed engine behind the driver.
PCA—Join us for the Porscheplatz at the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix, Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, Clarington, Ontario. The Porscheplatz is located adjacent to the front straight, and provides a great view of all the racing action. You can also relax in the tent and watch the races via live feed TV. There will also be “Porsche Only” parking in the Car Corral area next to the tent.
PCA—Described as a museum springing to life, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the famed Monterey Car Week, and is the only event where classic race cars are doing what they were originally intended to do — race. And what better way to enjoy this step back into history than to watch the races from the PCA Car Corral and Hospitality
Tent.
The Drive—David Donohue is a legend in the Porsche community. Son of the famed Mark Donohue, championship winning racer in his own right, and most recently Porsche's go-between for 918 Spyder owners, David has been racing for a couple of decades and shows no signs of slowing
down.
Motor1—A couple of Austrian police officers will be riding in style in
a Porsche 911 while keeping an eye out for traffic offenders. The Polizei will be using the sports car through October.
Oversteer by Autotrader—Last week, I unveiled my latest crazy purchase to the world: a 2004 Porsche Cayenne Turbo with 144,000 miles, which cost me only $6,100 -- making it the cheapest turbocharged Porsche available in the United States. After spending very little money to fully sort the Cayenne, I was eager to prove its viability -- so I planned to take it on a 1,000-mile work trip.
Unfortunately, it broke the night before I was supposed to leave.
MultiBriefs—I just returned from an aggressive tour of Germany — a weeklong trip from Berlin to Munich with several stops along the way. Much of the journey was spent getting to the next place on the schedule — trailing the Alps alongside the Autobahn where the mountains were perpetually
attached to the horizon.
PCA—Get ready for Werks Reunion Monterey once again, the premiere Porsche show during Monterey Car Week. The event is August 18, and
registration is open.
The Drive—As part of Porsche's big showing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, they've again brought along their Le Mans winning LMP1 class 919 Hybrid prototype.
Automobile—Klaus Zellmer has held several positions outside of the U.S. during his 20-year career with Porsche, but he has had a soft spot for America ever since a seminal visit in his teens.
The Drive—Craigslist is a constant in the world of car-guy entertainment. A combination of rare finds and terrible cars make it the true melting pot of the gearhead web.

York Times—Porsche's mid-engine convertible sports car, the Boxster, is revamped for 2017 with new engines, re-tuned suspension, styling updates and more standard features.
The Drive—Ahead of the major 24-hour endurance event at the Spa Francorchamps circuit at the end of this month, two Porsche teams have announced they are preparing cars for the race.
