Rennlist—Every year, the National Auto Dealer’s Association (NADA) releases a report outlining the cars to perform best in their “Three Year Value Retention” test.
Porsche has absolutely dominated the “Luxury Sports Car” category, taking the top three positions by a pretty wide margin. Back in 2013, if you’d purchased a new Porsche sports car, it’s value has held up better than any other sports car in the segment.

The Smoking Tire via YouTube—The Porsche 718 Cayman and Cayman S, like the 718 Boxsters before them, are now powered exclusively by turbocharged four-cylinder engines. And while yes, these engines sound like Subaru engines at low RPM, they make a lot more power and torque than the outgoing engines, and offer endless possibility for cheap tuning. Porsche NA representative Frank Weismann joins Matt on this drive in Austin to talk about the new Cayman S.

MultiBriefs—Last summer, I traded my 2009 Midnight Blue Cayman for a 2016 Macan S, with the self-imposed understanding that I would someday end up in another Cayman — perhaps a GTS or even the GT4. I'm not so sure I could have ultimately pulled the trigger on the Macan otherwise.

Car and Driver—The Porsche 911 celebrated its big Five-Oh a couple of years back, and not only is it still going strong, but it even resembles the original (unlike the equally successful and even older Chevrolet Corvette). As you’d expect, the 911 has profited from countless upgrades scattered over roughly seven generations. The new-for-2017 mid-cycle refresh applies to the 991 generation introduced in 2012 and is referred to as 991.2 in Porsche circles.

Maxoge via YouTube—One of my very first laps at the ‘Ring with the Carrera GT. Quite a lot of traffic in the first part of the track, but it cleared up around Fuchsröhre. This is not about lap times, more about enjoying this amazing car in the most beautiful track of the world!

Motor1—Porsche North America has issued a pretty interesting recall. The German manufacturer along with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have announced certain one-liter containers of Porsche-brand brake fluid, as well as 30-liter containers of the same fluid, have a misleading information on their stickers.

Top Gear—So it’s the basic Porsche Cayman?

Yes. The new Porsche 718 Cayman has a price that begins with a three (just) before options. But, now that Porsche’s bread and butter cars are all turbocharged, it still has nearly 300bhp and is good for a 171mph top speed.
 
Petrolicious—When Tenn Xoomsai Na Ayudhya went to renovate his house in central Bangkok, he did exactly what we’ve all dreamt of doing: he brought the garage indoors. I had the pleasure of tearing around Thailand for a few days with him in his batmobile RWB, sadly I never got to see this place in person as it was heavily under construction. Clearly we kept in touch, and just this week he dropped a handsome folder of shots in his newly-finished home.

Car and Driver—Those eagerly waiting to see the hybrid drivetrain technology from Porsche’s astounding limited-edition 918 hypercar trickle down into the standard 911 are going to have to wait for a while. It’s highly unlikely that Porsche will put battery-boosted hybrid power into its classic 911 sports car until sometime in its next generation.

Car and Driver—Porsche has no confirmed model program to develop a second battery-electric vehicle after the Mission E project launches as its anti-Tesla sedan in late 2019. The smart money is betting on an SUV or a crossover arriving within a year of the four-door, 310-mile-range Mission E that was previewed with a concept (photo above) at the 2015 Frankfurt auto show.
 
Automobile—As the car sweeps around the last corner and onto the pit straight, the blaze of its headlights in the Texas night makes us squint, even though we’re a half mile away. And as it guns past the grandstand here at the Circuit of the Americas, the Porsche 919 Hybrid is squeezing every erg of energy out of its mechanical soul and converting it into forward motion.

Car News China—The Zotye SR9 Porsche Macan clone has been officially launched in China, pricing will be announced tomorrow and deliveries will start next month. The Zotye SR9, formerly known as the Zotye SR8, is a near perfect ripoff, only details such as he grille and lights differ from the Macan.

Fstoppers—Cars are beautiful pieces of machinery, some more so than others. Photographer Philipp Rupprecht came across a chance to shoot a Porsche 918 Spyder as soon as it was delivered, which almost took a year to begin. 
 
Car and Driver—So, will Porsche’s latest Panamera sedan spawn a coupe or—gasp!—a convertible? “We have no shortage of coupes and convertibles in our lineup,” our source at Porsche in Zuffenhausen says, hinting that such variants don’t have much traction internally. It’s still tempting to imagine Porsche using its new front-engine/rear-wheel-drive platform for something even sportier than the Panamera, so we asked our illustrator to whip up some renderings.
