1. Winners of the Spring 2017 Member Only Raffle [w/video]

PCA—This past week, PCA Executive Director Vu Nguyen headed to Des Moines, Iowa to surprise one of six Spring 2017 Member Only Raffle winners in person: Ted Bleimehl of Schonesland Region. He and five other lucky members have won a 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS plus $25,000! With help from Ted's family and home Region, the surprise went off without a hitch. Judging from the video, he looks a bit excited, doesn't he?

2. New Porsche Cayenne lighter and more luxurious using VW's MLB platform

PCA—Porsche has just unveiled the new Cayenne SUV, which uses Volkswagen’s new MLB modular platform and will initially be offered in two variations — Cayenne and Cayenne S — at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany.

3. Five interesting Porsche results from the Monterey auctions

PCA—The Monterey auctions that concluded two Saturdays ago always include a huge number of Porsches. This year, other than the ex-Jo Siffert 917K selling for $14,080,000, there was no over-arching Porsche story like, for example, 2012, when prices of long-hood 911s began to climb in anticipation of the model’s 50th anniversary. Here are five results that for one reason or another caught our eye. All prices include the 10% auction company buyer’s premium.

4. Video: 1000 Ways to Fail: 911s take on the Baja Mexican 1000

PCA—A Porsche had never finished the NORRA Mexican 1,000 rally — until this past April, when a team fielded two 964 Carrera 4s to conquer the inhospitable terrain over five days of off-road racing.

5. Pickled Porsches at Pebble Beach

PCA—In collector car vernacular, a “pickled” car is an example kept obsessively like new with freakishly low miles. Whether the owner intended the car to be an investment or simply used it as a contemplative object rather than an automobile, pickled cars are an interesting phenomenon in the collector car world. Not surprisingly, there are a number on offer at the Pebble Beach auctions later this week. Here are five that caught our eye.
