7 ways to attract recruiters on LinkedIn. Why use LinkedIn to get yourself found? Survey after survey points to the fact that over 90% of recruiters and their sourcers, both within companies and external
headhunting agencies, use LinkedIn to identify potential "good fit" candidates.
These are all people with jobs to be filled, and these are opportunities you would likely never even hear about. For a variety of reasons, recruiters often like to "find" talent rather than being beseeched to help desperate job hunters. Think of it as a game of "hide and seek" with a twist: Recruiters are always "seeking," and you want to "hide" right in front of them in such a way as to be easily found.
LinkedIn is the place for most professionals to be found today. Being visible (and find-able) on LinkedIn takes some effort, but the benefits in increased visibility and credibility will usually outweigh the time invested. Read 7 Ways to Attract Recruiters on LinkedIn, by Arnie Fertig, for how to be found.

Rather than a straight path from Career A to Career B to Career C, career transition is more like a circuitous road with peaks and valleys located along the way. And transitioning also brings many questions, such as: How do I decide to embark on a new career? How do I support myself during this transition? And, Where do I start?
It's important that you determine what you want to do before you start doing it. All too often individuals seek change before they know what they really want to do with their lives. So, one of the best ways to start your transition is to focus on a passion of yours.
Transitioning to a new career can be a monumental decision, one that you can't take lightly, and one that will take time, energy, and patience. You are likely to find the right route for you on your road to a successful career transition and rewarding new opportunities, if you follow these 10 steps.

Planning a career change in the near future? Finishing or just finished a new degree? It is never too late to pursue a new career. Returning to school after years in the workforce with the intent of using your new graduate or undergraduate degree to make a change is quite common!
With the last semester looming and graduation on the horizon, or in the rear view mirror, many have a dream role in mind but struggle with how to position themselves, and their new degree, on LinkedIn. You might be all "settled in" using LinkedIn – updating your Profile, gaining new Connections, researching companies, applying to jobs, and being consistently active with LinkedIn Status Updates and publishing articles on
LinkedIn Pulse.
Or, you might not be using LinkedIn very much now. Time to change. Leveraging LinkedIn will make your career change easier and smoother, given how intensely employers and recruiters use LinkedIn.
