Music Group of the Week

A weekly newsletter highlighting a different the band each week.

Issue 1, the Eagles

Who can argue that the Eagles are one of the best rock bands ever? Well I found someone, check one of the articles I found for a "unique" perspective. Regardless, one of the things that I find most unique about the Eagles is that their core five members actually could have been lead singers on their own (which some actually did during a period of time when the Eagles were split up). Instead, they joined up to create one of the greatest musical collaborations of our time.

Until next week, enjoy.

Did you know that there is this whole group of people who really dislike The Eagles? They were even semi officially recognized in the movie "The Big Lebowski." I figured I'd at least clue you in on them.

Did you know that "Take it easy" was actually written by both Glenn Frey and Jackson Browne? I didn't! Here's their tribute to Glenn Frey at this years Grammy's, with Jackson Browne fronting the band.
Gotta thank Tom Tate for suggesting to include tabs in this newsletter. If you want to try a harder version, look for the "Hell Freezes Over" version.

This is my favorite Eagles song, and this is them performing it live in their prime. I love the dueling guitars at the end. And who knew a drummer could sing so well?

Very impressed how the Eagles handled the adverse weather and didn't miss a beat. This is a great song that you might not have heard before.
I love reading Wikipedia pages on bands. I'll probably wrap each newsletter this way. If you want more info, check this link.
