Hi,

Because I have to look for the most interesting news for you on a weekly basis, I discover a lot of things online.  I also come across interesting blogs.  For instance, have you come across this online food journal/blog of a cartoonist who chronicles his food intakes by drawing them or creating doodles?  He doesn't have a lot of entries, but what he has there now are really great.  Aside from the fact, that he is a fairly clever and talented artist, his blog is interesting for one thing - every food item he draws has its own personality and characteristic. This is what makes his work even more interesting. Just check out a couple of his drawings below -

Well, anyway, I have a link of his blog below just in case you might want to check out the rest of his culinary adventures.  Also, I am featuring English recipes this week and I'd recommend the English Muffin recipe. It's so easy to prepare, but its really delicious.

Again, if you would like to check out our previous editions, please click here.   If you have something to say or to suggest, why don't you give me a holler!  Send me an email and I will consider your suggestion or request

So, scroll down below to check out this week's selections. Enjoy!

  • Vegetarian cookbooks: pick of the crop
  • I love meat but, mainly for economic reasons, I find myself cooking more meals with vegetables at their heart. Eating ethically-reared meat is more and more of a luxury, so almost by default I find myself getting closer to Professor Tim Lang's latest advisory which suggests we eat meat just once a week. More chefs and cookery writers are edging away from meat so there are lots of books around to spice up vegetarian meals.

  • Test Kitchen tips: Choosing and storing nuts
  • Because of their high oil content, nuts can go bad quickly and easily. There's nothing worse than biting into a nut gone bad -- rancid nuts tend to have a sharp, bitter flavor, and can ruin a recipe.

  • In Paris, Examining the Art of Cuisine
  • The city of light is home to the fourth annual Paris des Chefs festival, an event that seeks to blend cooking and art by having chefs prepare food with a creative partner. For the event, at Maison de la Mutualité through Tuesday, chefs use the creative partners, many of them artists, as catalysts that inspire a conversation about cooking and the art of creation.
