No Paint Defensive Drill March 16, 2010 (If you have trouble clicking on any of the links, copy and paste the link into your web browser) This short video is of Ben Jacobson (Northern Iowa Men) running a 3 on 3 drill to work on keeping the ball out of the paint. I have seen Northern Iowa play several times this year. If you get a chance to record their games in the upcoming NCAA tournament, it is very much worth watching their defense. He doesn't go into it in the video, but you can make this drill competitive by keeping score of one three on three group vs. another using points for each dribble and pass that the defense forces before the ball goes in the lane, or with a stopwatch to see which group keeps it out for the longest time.
