MAKE MOM'S DAY WITH A TJ-THEMED GIFT BASKET

Mom called. She wants a Trader Joe's cookbook! Package one up with a TJ gift certificate or  colorful TJ reusable shopping bags.  Or make a fun (and affordable!) gift basket by adding yummy Trader Joe's goodies.  Watch this video for tips on how to make your own gourmet gift basket!

PAMPER MOM WITH BREAKFAST IN BED

This casserole version of French toast is easy enough for the kids to make!  Assemble the night before, and pop it into the oven in the morning.  The whole house will smell delightful.  Serve with fresh fruit and/or maple syrup.

French Bake Recipe
One ~16 oz  challah loaf (brioche also OK)
2 cups whole milk
4 eggs
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp vanilla extract
¼ cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp Turbinado sugar for sprinkling on top

1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2) Oil or butter a 9x13-inch glass baking pan (use an 8x8 pan if using a smaller loaf).
3) Tear bread into bite sized pieces and place in pan.
4) Whisk together milk, eggs, cinnamon, vanilla, and brown sugar.  Pour mixture over top of bread.
5) Wait a few minutes to let liquid soak into bread, gently tossing bread around a little to soak evenly.  Sprinkle top with a little Turbinado sugar.
6) Bake in oven for 35-40 minutes, uncovered.  The Bake will puff up once done.

Another easy breakfast option is building a pretty parfait.  And this one is so good for you!  Creamy yogurt, crunchy granola, and fresh berries, make up the yummy layers. Use a clear glass so Mom can admire all the colors.  This is another easy one for kids to make.

Yogurt Granola Parfait Recipe

3/4 cup plain or vanilla yogurt
3/4 cup granola
3/4 cup fresh berries in season

1) Layer yogurt, granola, and berries in a clear glass, alternating layers a few times.

Finally, warm Mom's heart with a spiced Chai tea sweetened with honey and transformed to a creamy luscious drink with almond milk.  Simply make a cup of Ruby Red Chai according to package instructions, and then add Vanilla Almond Milk and honey to taste.  You'll want to make an extra cup for yourself!

For other easy breakfast ideas, consider frozen croissants,  frozen popovers, crumpets, scones, or frozen quiche.

Mother's Day is a great reminder to recognize how important Mom is and everything she does as a mother.  Here's to Moms everywhere!
