Get Crocked News...
Well, football has kicked off, the kiddos are back at school, and we have officially had our first day of Autumn - that means "crocking season" is in full swing! Today I am sharing some of my favorite apple recipes for fall.
Growing up, my friend Kathy lived on an apple orchard and nothing was better than getting to sleep over at her house because they had apple everything
! Fresh picked apples, cider, caramel apples, pie and many other sweet treats. So every fall when apple season comes around, I have a bit of nostalgia from those days. I hope Kathy and her mom would approve of the Crock Pot apple recipes they helped inspire! (I hope you love them too!)

Crock Pot Apple Pecan Crisp
This is a twist on an old favorite and it's so good! One of the things I love about this recipe is you can put it in the crock when you are making dinner and it will be ready by dessert time.
For awhile I was stuck in a teriyaki pork loin rut! Then one day I had apples to use before they went bad and this recipe was born. If your pork loin is already trimmed or very lean, you can skip step 1 (browning) and it will still be delish!
A few variations: use fresh apple cider instead of apple juice for a flavor boost. You can also make this with pork chops.
This recipe is fun for the whole family! Kids are always eager to help with this one and can hardly wait for the caramel to soften enough to dip the apples. For added fun, put different toppings on paper plates and roll the apples in your favorite after dipping. (things like chopped nuts, sprinkles, heath bits, and cookie crumbles are all good!)
