Monday Success Tip
Today is President's Day. This is the day we honor two of our early leaders, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. These two men were visionaries, men who led us through adversities to make us the great nation we are today.
Both of these men possessed charisma, which is a natural ability to influence others. Charismatic Leadership is based on the premise of using these natural abilities to influence and motivate others to set and achieve goals, and then in carrying them out.
Here are some ways to emphasize your charismatic leadership skills:
Be sensitive to appropriate contexts for charisma by using critical evaluation and problem detection
Use creative thinking to uncover the vision and to learn and think about profound change
Communicate, through oral and written means, to convey your vision and future plans
Be impressive through modeling behaviors, such as through your dress, body language and verbal skills
Empower others by communicating high-performance expectations, improving participation in decision-making, setting meaningful goals, and in establishing an appropriate reward system that benefits all
Charisma comes naturally for some but anyone can hone their charismatic leadership skills by following the steps above. If you have the day off, I hope you have a restful and relaxing day; for those who have to work, this would be a great day to get started practicing.
I hope you have a productive week - make it a successful one!
