So yesterday I was teaching a session at
high level marketing retreat.
People paid A LOT of money to be there and I wanted to give them
my very best stuff.
While I was discussing how to format an email properly I
wanted to demonstrate the way we should layout an email
versus the way copy is normally laid out offline...
Say in a book or magazine.
So I showed the attendees one of my emails and then
to contrast it I asked the crowd to should out something
to google so I could show them an example of how
NOT to format something in a letter.
So what did they shout out???
Was it something
normal?
Something that wouldn't make me blush...
NO...
Of course not...
It was FOOT FETISH!
So now I had to google foot fetish to show an article up
on the big screenso we could study the formatting
and of course...Much to my embarrassment
there were PICTURES accompanying the article!

Let's just say it was pretty darn funny!
But sometimes you just need something zany to
get you to remember how to do something properly.
And formatting your emails well is the difference between
getting them read and making money with them
and wasting your time and getting no opens.
