Happy Birthday ! EcoPlusHome is part of global Bosch project
The Bosch Group, who is the technology partner of the EcoPlusHome project, has a double cause for celebration in the year 2011: The 125th anniversary of the company and the 150th anniversary of the birth of its founder, Robert Bosch. On November 15, 1886, Bosch established  his "Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering" in Stuttgart, laying the foundations for what has since become a leading global supplier of technology and services. Born on September 23, 1861, Robert Bosch was a technology pioneer who propelled his company to international success during his own lifetime.
Today the Bosch Group does business through more than 300 subsidiaries and regional companies in over 60 countries, and has a workforce of a good 280,000 associates worldwide. About 50 percent of the Bosch Group's total research and development budget is invested in green technologies. The company's commitment to environmental responsibility is thus a strong factor in its business succes.
On the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Bosch Group realized the project: "Global Impressions of Bosch" with stories and images of the 125 most relevant projects of Bosch in the world. The images were all taken at the exact same time to capture an authentic snapshot that does justice not only to the Bosch Group's culture, its people, products, and technologies, but also portrays the company's traditions and its future prospects.

EcoPlusHome Energy Savings Forecast
The EcoPlusHome project is proving the best return on their investment for a home owner, in a energy efficient home solution. The team has now finalized the "Energy Savings Forecast" (ESF) calculator. This tool gives us the opportunity to  model and calculate the energy efficiency of each home at any location in
Canada and the
U.S. The ESF calculator also can compare the individual EcoPlusHome with existing standard, less energy efficient homes. The savings on energy for an EcoPlusHome vs. a build to code home are significant.
As an example: a 1,400 sqft. EcoPlusHome 'bungalow style' compared to a standard bungalow gives the new owner a potential savings of more than CAN$ 45,000.00 over a period of 10 years, without considering the extra value added to the home. Through different cash incentive program from Governments the return on the upfront investment is about 8 years.
The EcoPlusHome Energy-Efficiency Manager Michael Winkel says, "the calculator is a very strong tool for us to evaluate the specific savings as well as the time for the return of investment for each individual customer". The Energy Savings Forecast calculator is based on the Hot 2000 program of the Canadian Government and is available for every EcoPlusHome customer and homebuilder.

The first EcoPlusHomes for sale !
The first EcoPlusHome developments are now in realization. EcoPlusHomes are available in
Moncton at the "Sterling Meadows" subdivision for a special introduction price of CAN$ 247,000 (plus tax). In
Fredericton the first EcoPlusHome townhouses are available for CAN$ 256,000 (plus tax). All EcoPlusHome packages are all inclusive (house turn key, technologies and installations, land services and landscaping, drive way etc.). The EPH team also offers a free maintenance package for the first year after purchase.
The EcoPlusHome solution is available everywhere for any house type and size (prefabed, stick build, ICF and others) in
Canada upon request. The next EcoPlusHome projects are in development in Halifax,
Saint John and Vancouver. The several regional incentive programs in the U.S. and Canada offer an attractive cash pay back for the investment of new home owner in energy efficiency. The cash incentive for an EcoPlusHome in Nova Scotia for example is more than CAN $ 13,000.

EcoPlusHome at Home Shows in Atlantic

Together with strategic partner Maple Leaf Homes the EcoPlusHome team is present at several home shows across Atlantic Canada. Each home show is an excellent opportunity to explain the financial and environmental advantages of an investment into an EcoPlusHome. The overwhelming interest of the visitors at the shows in
Saint John,
Moncton and
Fredericton is a clear indication of the demand for the integrated EcoPlusHome for new home buyers.
The EcoPlusHome team presented the concept through several hundred meetings and answered all relevant questions in the field of energy efficiency. Canadian broadcaster CBC held a TV interview with EPH manager Axel Lerche live from the Atlantic Home Show in
Saint John. The team welcomed Federal Minister Hon. Keith Ashfield, Fredericton Mayor Brad Woodside and Deputy Minister of Business New Brunswick Bill Levesque at the Maple Leaf Homes booth in
Fredericton. Project partner James Realty and Martell Homes offered the first EcoPlusHomes in
Fredericton and
Moncton for a special introductory price and the first pre sales were negotiated at each show.
Together with Maple Leaf Homes the EcoPlusHome team will be present at the Ideal Home Show at the
HalifaxExhibitionPark next weekend (April 1-3) and a week later (April 8-11) at the PEI Provincial Home Show at the Charlotte Town Civic Centre.

New EcoPlusHome team members
The EcoPlusHome team continues to grow stronger. Because of the continual growing interest in the most energy efficient and affordable home solution, the EcoPlusHome the management has decided to strengthen the team on all project levels.
Jamal Instrum (46) is the newest member of the general management. Jamal, born in
Moncton,
New Brunswick, has excellent experiences in the  development of international projects for many years. He worked for companies such as Siemens, Merck and Toshiba in North America and the
Middle East and has a great entrepreneurial spirit. As part of the EcoPlusHome management Jamal is responsible for national and international business affairs as well as new business.
Michael Winkel (34) is our new member in the technology and innovation department. Michael has a German Engineering Degree in Wood Technology with Specialization in Wood Construction and has completed his Masters of Science in Wood Construction from the University of New Brunswick (UNB). In
Germany and
Canada he worked for different companies in the field of manufactured housing and he is an EnerGuide evaluator in Atlantic Canada. As part of the EcoPlusHome team his focus is the management of projects on site ensuring the maximum energy efficiency, but also the further development of tools for energy savings and house modelling. Michael just became a Canadian citizen and lives in
Moncton,
New Brunswick.
Benoit Igier (24) is participating at an international internship at the EcoPlusHome from his
University of
Nantes (Ecole Superiour de Bois). Part of the program in
France is the focus on energy efficient construction and the integration of the adequate technology solutions. Benoit works together with EPH technical director Scott Tidd to further develop the different solutions for the existing and future EcoPlusHome projects in
Canada and the
US.
EPH manager Axel Lerche says, "the new members will strengthen the core competencies of the EcoPlusHome team to build the most energy efficient homes for an affordable investment."
