June Newsletter - Is Summer Here? Sent Tuesday, June 28, 2011 View as plaintext
Free Flowing Energy

Hi ,

Well May seemed to fly by so fast that I didn't get a chance to do a newsletter. June has almost done the same! I know we are now officially in summer but really I don't think it is here yet. I can count on one hand the number of sunny days and I have been known to sit on the sofa a couple of evenings with a blanket on. I do hope the weather improves soon! Do drop me a line if you'd like me to address a particular topic or just to let me know how you are getting on. What ways have you been using EFT lately?

The Critical Self

How many times have you criticised yourself? Is this something that you do on a regular basis? Do you give yourself a hard time when you would have been easier on someone else in the same situation? This is very common. Here is a script that might help you with this:

Write down your score on a scale of 0 - 10 first (where 10 is maximum self criticism).

Setup:
Tap on the Karate Chop whilst repeating three times:
  • Even though I'm always criticising myself, I'm willing to accept myself anyway
  • Even though I always criticise myself and nothing is ever good enough, I'm willing to be kinder to myself
  • Even though I'm my own worst critic, I'm willing to try giving myself a break
Eyebrow: I'm so critical of myself
Side of Eye: I'm always telling myself I've done a bad job
Under Eye: I always criticise myself
Under Nose: I'm so self critical
Chin: I'm my own worst critic
Collarbone: Why do I give myself such a hard time?
Under Arm: I never do a good enough job
Top of Head: I never give myself any positive praise

Eyebrow: Why do my own standards have to be so high?
Side of Eye: It seems like I never meet my own high standards
Under Eye: I'm never good enough
Under Nose: I never do good enough
Chin: I always criticise everything I do
Collarbone: At every opportunity
Under Arm:  I give myself such a hard time
Top of Head: I'm so self critical

Eyebrow: I'm open to treating myself differently
Side of Eye: What if I could give myself a break
Under Eye: Maybe I am actually doing my best
Under Nose: I wonder if I could actually be kind to myself
Chin: What if judged myself less harshly
Collarbone: Maybe I can find something positive to say
Under Arm: What if I was less self critical
Top of Head: I'm open to getting to the bottom of this self criticism

Use your words where appropriate to really tune in to how you feel. Keep tapping until you can be kinder to yourself and less self critical. It is very helpful to work with an experienced practitioner with
issues of this nature.

Quote of the Month
"The most wasted of all days is one without laughter." -- E. E. Cummings

How often do you laugh? Laughing has many benefits including stress relief, pain reduction, boosting your immunity and improving your mood. Life can feel very serious at times and we can take ourselves and our situations too seriously. So learn to lighten up and enjoy a good laugh. Try watching a funny TV programme or movie, reading a comic or goof around with your kids. Share a joke or hang around with some funny friends/colleagues. Learn to laugh and you might just enjoy life more!

Fitting in EFT
One of our biggest challenges is actually making the time to help ourselves feel better. We all have the ability to do this, it's just sometimes we can't find the time. The beauty of EFT of course, is that it usually works very quickly. I'm going to bring you ways to fit EFT in each month, so you can find the time to feel better.

Tap In Queues:
Everyone hates queuing right! Why is it that when we are in a rush, the queue seems extra long or seems to take forever to go down. Do you queue hop only to find the original queue moves faster! This is a perfect time to do some tapping on your frustration or stress etc. If you are just bored waiting then use this time to tap on an issue you are working on. Remember you can always use finger tapping or just tap the karate chop point to remain inconspicuous! I find tapping in queues really helpful - it certainly beats getting stressed whilst standing there.
