How Much Is Your Non-Production Film Budget?

Good morning everyone,
I hope your week is going really well!
With almost every client I work with there comes a time when the shock sets in of how much in non-Production expenses there are associated with getting a film off the ground. I mean now more than ever since to stand out from the massive amounts of other projects out there you really have to go all-out with the visuals and marketing collateral, especially when you're trying to raise financing for your film.
I know of one Producer who with half the financing in place for his film was having problems attaching high level cast to his project until he decided to go out and shoot a full production value teaser trailer for the film. Well the tides sure changed after that! They ended up getting talent agency representation with that trailer and suddenly everyone was eager to get the script in the hands of A-list talent. In this case, it was a matter of showing people how capable and talented they were as a Production team, and whatever they invested in making the trailer was obviously well worth it.
What are you doing to set your project apart from the gazillions of other projects out there? I'd love to see what you've done! Shoot me an email and let me know... and also, how it's worked out for you.
