Affiliate Marketing for Beginners: The Free, Easy Way to Grow Your Subscriber List and Make Consistent Sales Sent Friday, February 11, 2011 View as plaintext

In yesterday's newsletter, I promised to tell you about a free way to grow your subscriber list, which is the backbone of making easy, consistent sales as an affiliate marketer.

One word: Safelists.

Affiliate Marketing for Beginners:  What are Safelists?

In simple terms, a safelist is an email marketing strategy where you are allowed to email many people (hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands and even millions) your product/service offer. It is "safe" to mail them because they have agreed to receive emails from you without accusing you of spam.

This is why they're known as "opt-in" lists. You opt in as a subscriber so you can send offers, as well as receive them from others.

Usually, they work on some kind of points rewarded system. For example, you may receive a few or hundreds of emails daily. For each one you open and view, you receive a certain number of points, eg, 20, 50, etc.

You use these accumulated points to mail the list. For example, I subscribed to the safelist, ListJoe.com. As a free subscriber (I haven't spent a dime with them), every 7 days, I can email up to 5,500 members because when I receive emails from others on the list, I open them and accumulate points.

From what I've read, a 2-3% open rate is standard. I've been averaging just that. I've sent out three campaigns with ListJoe.com, and following are my stats to date. Note: I market the backpage ebook, How to Make Money Place Free Classified Ads, found at http://FreeAdsSell.info, via ListJoe.

Credits = the number of credits I accumulate by clicking on ads sent to me from other safelist members.

Recipients = the number of people I sent my ad out to.

The other stats should be pretty self explanatory. BTW, you can log into your control panel and see stats at any time.

FYI, as soon as you sign up with most safelits (there are thousands of them), you can send out an ad campaign right away. For example, I signed up on the 26th of January and sent out my first campaign that same day.

One more thing: You can buy credits and send your ad out to even more people. As I'm still learning about safelists and like to test things for a while before I spend money, I haven't done this yet.

I advise every new affiliate marketer to try free and low-cost ways like safelists to learn before you start spending any money.

Affiliate Marketing for Beginners:  How Can Safelists Make You Money?

If have no money and want to start making sales and building your subscriber list, safelists are an easy, free way to do it. As we discussed in yesterday's newsletter, the more subscribers you have on your list, the more sales you make and the more predictable your affiliate marketing becomes.

In next Thursday's newsletter, I'll detail more about safelists and how to make money with them. I'd never tried them before, but am quite pleased with how they're working for me as far as subscriber signups and product sales.

Start growing your subscriber list with safelists today!

P.S.: A note on selling the Backpage ebook and keeping all the profits as talked about in earlier versions of this newsletter.

Quite a few people have asked me about it since the beginning of the year (must be that "starting something new" at the start of the year thing going on). This offer is no longer valid; it hasn't been for a while. And, it's because of the trouble I had as explained in this post. Although all is well now, I rescinded the offer because I didn't want to worry about affiliates having problems promoting the product.

You can still sell the ebook by becoming an Inkwell Editorial affiliate, where you earn 50% of all sales you make.
