Proverbs 3:5-6 (niv)
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own
understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your
paths straight."
The Lord has placed this verse in a special spot in my heart. It was the first verse I ever read, and memorized. This beautiful verse has carried me through trials and tribulations.
This is a verse that becomes a weapon in your Christian arsenal. Whenever you are tempted, by yourself or Satan, you can turn your heart to this verse, God lays it out for you.
Our understanding will always fall short of the wonders of our God. When we rely on our own understanding we are depriving ourselves of the true power of God to work in our lives through Jesus Christ.
God does not withhold, we are the ones who set the limits by leaning on our own understandings.
Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, give us the strength and knowledge to lean not on our own understanding. Give us a new heart that we may acknowledge you in all we do. Father take our paths from our control and straighten them as you would, you are everything to us father, in Jesus Christ mighty and wonderful name, Amen.
Go forth today, not leaning on your own understanding, acknowledging God in all your ways. He is faithful and loving beyond our understanding and He will make our paths straight.
