Friday Inspiration—The Glory of Surrender

Published: Fri, 01/13/17

There is a life-force within your soul, seek that life.
There is a gem in the mountain of your body, seek that mine.
O traveler, if you are in search of That
Don't look outside, look inside yourself and seek That.

Dear ,

If you ask me, there’s nothing more lovely than surrender. What does it mean to surrender?
  • You let go of the need to predict and control.
  • You ignore the worries about the future and longing of the past.
  • You see how unimportant your preferences are.
And you melt completely into the space of presence.

Take your habits and needs, your body and mind—everything personal that defines you—and throw it all into the holy fire of this Loving Source that is at the heart of everything.

Let life move you and show you what is needed. Be a servant to the One Heart that is fully trustworthy.

Surrender invites you to stop. You stop doing and controlling. You stop protecting, defending, and avoiding.

And you bow down, humble and receptive, with resistance no longer an option. You receive what you get with the deepest acceptance and love.

In surrender, the doing and trying of the personal self dissolve into pure being. And what remains? The flow of this presence unfolding with exquisite perfection—because that’s what it does.

Although you might think that your personal hopes and desires create your world, check to see if that is actually true. Ignore them, and see what happens.

You’ll be carried along to just where you need to be (even if it’s not where you think you need to be). You’ll say and do just what needs to be said and done. Listen deeply, and you’ll discover that everything you need to know is right here.

Try it! Get a taste of surrender. It’s utterly glorious…

Always with love,

Gail
