Hello !

Happy New Year!!  Thank you all for your patience during the holiday season, it was a mite crazy.

It seems like I spend a ridiculous amount of time making holes in glass.  One of my favorite shortcuts is to fuse the hole right in while I'm making things.

Here is a quick walk through of how I add holes to my retro star holiday ornaments.  When making the ornaments, I add a second small piece of glass under one of the star arms and insert a thin strip of fiber paper between the two.

Here's the view from the top:

And after fusing:

You can see the fiber will slip easily out of the hole.  Thread a mono-filament line through and we're done!  No drilling required.

On the blog:

The free kiln carving patterns for November, December AND January are available for download on the Shop page.
Recycled Wine Bottle Trinket Boxes tutorial- this is a great project that combines fusing and cold working with charming results.
Recycled Window Glass Name tag tutorial - This is a fun group project to make name tags.

Thanks so much for reading.  If you have a recycled glass question, I'd love to help with it!

Best Regards,

Here's how it works:

Take the prompt, go to your studio and MAKE something. It doesn't have to be great, it doesn't even have to be a whole finished piece, just make SOMETHING!

Show someone before next week (facebook counts, on the GWaP page, or on your own page).

Come back next Wednesday for a new prompt.

The goal is to get you moving and working. Come play!
