Thank you for caring! FAQs and Comments, Answered Poop! (Revised) © Anita Revel What I should have said... So my Get Anita out of the Poop headline didn't go down too well on Tuesday. Sorry about that. I was just trying to be light-hearted, which kind of back-fired. So, to clarify what I really meant, I spent this morning making this little video for you... It's my first-ever home video (so be kind! <--- joking again!) I'm actually quite camera-shy, so I'm proud of me for crossing this comfort zone... You can call me the One-Take-Wonder, and after seeing this you'll know why. It's off the cuff and occasionally I stutter and search for words, the book cover is a mirror image for some reason, and it's not all that polished... but I left it all intact because I want you to see first-hand how I really and truly am an authentic, real and true person! I also want you to see my raw passion for these oil blends. They change lives. I can't always explain how they do; I only know that they do. Anyway, watch this little video and see for yourself... I'm so grateful to all of you who took the time to personally respond to Tuesday's broadcast, whether it was by email or via a note on the Facebook wall. With hundreds of responses it is fairly impossible to answer each one individually, but as there are some recurring questions and comments running through many of them, I'll cover the most popular themes here, now... Are you really in the poop? No... I am well-fed (goodness am I well fed!), I live in a beautiful home, I am surrounded by beautiful people, and above all, I have my health. I am profoundly blessed and deeply happy. I have lots of exciting projects on the go (check just a few of them on the right!), my daughter is just delicious and loads of fun, my son is a fully-fledged magnificent young man that I'm intensely proud of, my husband adores me and the feeling is mutual... I am abundant beyond measure! Again, I'm sorry for making a little joke out of a prolonged technical issue that left me adrift for a few weeks. I hope you watch the video and get a better sense of my cheekiness and sense of fun - Baubo is definitely present in my persona! I don't use Facebook! This newsletter is not disappearing - it is just evolving to a new look and new content. So do stay on the list if you want to get news to inspire and reconnect with your inner goddess. How does quitting a 10-year passion feel wonderful? First of all, I'm only quitting the current format. I'm still as passionate about promoting the inner goddess as I ever was. I will continue to write advice and research and make it available, just in a different format. In answer to the overall vibe of the question, it feels wonderful because I have freed up some time to feed my precious soul, to fill it doing things that make me happy... It's wonderful because I've prioritised what's important, and the winners at the top of my priority list are my family, my health, my home and my community. I'm now spending only 2 hours in front of the computer a day, whereas I used to spend 15. It's wonderful because with the 13 hours I've freed up I'm socialising face-to-face, helping out in a real way, developing rich personal relationships, and feeling that what I'm doing now is going to leave a legacy more profound than a newsletter ever will... Your email sounds like a battle-cry In a way it was a battle-cry... I was declaring war on the technology that keeps me tied to a desk; to sticking with the old ways out of habit and fear of exploring new ways; and for grabbing onto the wings of new adventures and experiences that are enriching and nourishing... I'm unsubscribing to save you money / It sounded like it came from the head, not the heart Don't make money or guilt the reason for unsubscribing! To head that section up with Get Anita Out of the Poop was just a little joke in an effort to lighten-up the newsletter - a bad move in hindsight. Apologies Gratitude Wow Poop! © Anita Revel Apologies... Thank you to the beautiful InnerGoddess members who have written to me lately to enquire about the absence of the InnerGoddess newsletter. You know this service has been as regular as clockwork for many years now. You could rely on a random message for your inner goddess every Monday to power you up for the week... I'm so sorry you haven't received a broadcast since April! Happily, I can tell you that I'm not ill; there is nobody holding me to ransom; and I'm not succumbing to rampant wanderlust. The truth behind the missing newsletters is, that due to technical difficulties with my contact management system, I've been unable to broadcast my regular newsletter for nearly two months now. It's as simple and as difficult as that... Really! Gratitude! It's pretty devastating (not to mention frustrating), to be out of action like this, but looking on the bright side, perhaps it's time for a change anyway?! Please know that I'm ever-so-grateful for your support over these past 10+ years. This happened to me this morning when I opened my inbox and found someone had beaten me to an idea I had been working on for months... Boo hoo! What an instant de-motivator! In response to my Facebook status Your tips for managing moments of self doubt? these are some of the rocking responses I received. They worked a treat for reviving my motivation to carry on... I trust they will work for you too. Call upon lion medicine for courage. Look at life from the height of the stars above... Listen to your gut feeling, not your brain. Ask myself exactly what it is I am doubting and why. Have I done this before? Did it turn out alright? If I haven't, why do I think I can't or am I just being my own worst enemy. Again. Shut off the back talk, straighten my spine, and GO! I once grabbed my journal and wrote down every single self-doubt riddled thought I could come up with, and when I got to the bottom of my negativity pit, I started to write my way back out... the truth about my powers, my gifts, the way I'm... Self doubt is just fear attempting to prevent us from being even more awesome than we already are...the more fear I have the faster I run toward something as I know it will be a catalyst for phenomenal change in my life! Remind yourself of three things you are good at. And urge motivation behind being where you are right then. I remind myself of all my triumphs, and and write out a list of all the times my self-doubt was actually right... it's a very short list - the trick is to only put things on the list where you actually tried something despite your self-doubt; untested theories are useless, they throw 'em out in science and so should we. Surround your self with happy positive like minded peeps and family!!! it works every time! they love you for who you are! no matter what!!!!! Talk it out with those you trust and what my smart Mama said too. I have been reading On Writing by Steven King and this comment strikes a chord - not just for writing, but for life - ...the realisation that stopping a piece of work just because it's hard, either emotionally or imaginatively, is a bad idea. Sometimes you have to go on when you don't feel like it, and sometimes you're doing good work when it feels like all you're managing is to shovel shit from a sitting position... Doubt someone else, because it's likely their fault any rate (I know it's meant to be funny, but I particularly liked the last one - it reminded me of the advice given by Don Miguel Ruiz in his book The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom, A Toltec Wisdom Book, that nothing is personal. As the sun warmed my back and the sound of women laughing drifted into my soul, I was inspired to right a letter from my Wild Woman Within to my Self. Her Story Dana is the mother goddess of the Irish fairy people, the Tuatha Dé Danann (too-ha-day-dah-nan.) They were skilled in art, poetry and magic, and ruled Ireland until they were overrun and driven to live in fairy mounds. She is celebrated at Beltane (April 30 in the northern hemisphere, October 31 in the southern hemisphere), the season of fertility and prosperity when the Tuatha Dé Danann had first set foot in Ireland. Her Modern Energy Sadly there are no recorded stories of Dana -- evidently her latent message is to tell your story before it is too late! And so, it was her magical fairy energy that spoke to me when I picked up a pen and began writing my story. They (whoever they may be) say that a writing apprenticeship is one-million words. I sense that in writing down my life stories and personal mythology I have written that much and more, but I couldn't tell you for sure. What I can tell you, however, is that in penetrating the veil of what a career should look like and instead honouring my creative destiny, I have found myself in the Land of My Heart's Desire. In answering my calling to be a writer I've discovered the key to a successful career is to have a healthy dose of fun while doing whatever it takes to achieve that success. Letting yourself have fun at work naturally inspires you to be more creative, more innovative, and more receptive to new and imaginative ideas. And those elements can only add a positive and permanent quality to any relationship. Reconnect With Your Inner Dana Begin writing your life story... There is no doubt that you would have life lessons to share that perhaps you aren't consciously aware of. There are several approaches you can take, even if you don't consider yourself a writer... Write a short story about yourself in the third person, making yourself the heroine of the amazing adventure that has been your life so far; Write short journal entries before you go to sleep every night, focussing on the best thing that happened to me today; Release any residual pain surrounding old injuries by rewriting the story with a new outcome; Start a gratitude journal and record every little thing that makes you go mmmmmm.
