Your fashion sense can be affecting your workouts. I have written a post today called High Heel Hangover and some quick tips about shoe choice, whether it be casual or dress, with solutions to help with tight muscles and your workouts. Don't worry I have not given any advice, I know my boundaries.

Enjoy,

I have a few spare minutes this morning and wanted to pass on this fitness information to help you avoid injury and benefit from longevity with your workouts.

The first point is regarding the Q angle and female exercisers. You have probably heard this term before and in females the Q angle (the angle from you hip to knee) is greater than a males, therefore putting more stress on your lateral quads relative to medial. I have written a post that explains why it is especially important for a new mom exerciser to pay attention to the mechanics of the female body. I have examples of some programs to avoid overuse injuries in this post as well and how to counteract quad dominant activity.

There is a great busy mom fat loss workout posted under the Superset Monday category that is posterior chain dominant and finally an easy healthy chicken recipe donated by one of our readers.

Please enjoy,

Jacqueline

I have written a small post today and have included 2 simple home exercise circuits. The main topic is how to avoid common mistakes new moms make when starting or returning to exercise post partum. If you want exercise longevity and success you need to re-stabilize your body first. Don't let relaxin and overuse injuries from mothering get the better of you. Enjoy this post and I hope you are having a great summer.

I am getting ready to take 2 weeks holiday with my family, the longest amount of time I have taken with my family. I will defiantly be packing my kettle bells.

During the month of June I have written 3 posts for Busy Mom Fitness.

The first post is called 4 Simple Rules to a Great Workout. This can help you integrate some key components into your fitness routine. Dynamic warm ups, posterior chain strength, core strength and unilateral training are covered.

The second posting is called Gym to Home. I have taken a typical in gym routine that I use with my clients and modified it for busy moms to do at home. This is the program I was using during June.

The third post for June deals with some simple moves to help with back and shoulder aches during times of inactivity. It is summer and many moms will be taking family vacations and time away from their regular fitness routines. Week Off-what to do. Don't let little nagging aches wear you down.

Enjoy the summer,

Jacqueline

Part of being a mom is being sleep deprived. How do your workouts fit into this new norm? If you did not workout when you were tired you would literally NEVER workout as a mom. I have posted some tips and what types of workouts to perform according to the level of sleep deprivation you are suffering. The most important thing you can do is listen to your body, not necessarily your mind. You may be motivated but starting to get a scratchy throat- this is not a good time to do an interval workout. You may feel unmotivated and lethargic- but overall healthy- this is a good time to workout.

Check my post for the 2 types of workouts you can chose from.

I have posted up the abstract links to 2 published studies. The first one is a great study indicating that using superset training maximizes fat loss in a short period of time. The second study deals with exercise compliance. I like these studies because both proven methods are cornerstones in the Busy Mom Fitness program. Working out 3-4 x/week and using supersets for fat loss.

Enjoy your week and have a great Long weekend.
