This Week's Posting Roundup

This past week has been a busy one.  I have been featuring a lot of guest bloggers recently on Kikolani which has been great as I have been doing a lot of guest blogging myself.

This week, I had a few topics that I wanted to cover personally, including the CommentLuv listing which features 17 blogs on blogging, making money online, organization, and many more topics, plus the benefits of using Twitterfeed and HootSuite RSS feeds (only with blogs you trust to always provide valuable information to followers), plus what that means when it comes to blog post timing and schedules (if you post at a time when your targeted audience is offline, they will miss a lot of tweets of your post).

The biggest post for the month is going to be the one on Social Media Examiner covering 6 social media mistakes and how to fix them.  If you find that social media has not been giving you the results you have expected, then you might want to take a quick look at this list to see if you have inadvertently made a few oopses in your social networking campaign and see how easily they can be fixed so that social media you can be successful on social media!

Blogging Contest Extension

In the last newsletter, I mentioned the guest blogging contest over at Famous Bloggers and ComLuv.  Entry acceptance was originally supposed to end on July 7th, but it has been extended to July 13th.  There's nothing to lose and a LOT to gain, including a share of $3,500 in cash prizes PLUS exposing your writing skills to a huge new audience - some posts in this contest are getting over 100 comments and tweets!

If you are going to enter or have already entered, learn more about how the prizes will be split and how to increase your chances of winning, as well as some more reasons why you should enter.

And of course, since I would love to win, please continue supporting my entry on article promotion with CommentLuv by commenting & tweeting!

IBGC Week 1 - Inspiration

Last week, I started the Income Blogging Guide Course, as I am hoping to (eventually) make the move into full time blogging.

After signing up, I immediately received a welcome pack which included not only the first lesson, but also a choice between three premium themes (Headway and Flexx for free or Thesis for an additional $40), forum access for course members, and information about the weekly teleseminars.  The forum alone has a nice wealth of valuable resources to explore.

Lesson #1 is about determining your passion, choosing a profitable niche, learning about the niche's needs via forums (very interesting idea), keyword research, and figuring out your ideal customer.

I had originally signed up for the course, planning on using it towards bettering Kikolani, but I was inspired by the first week to take the course and apply it to another idea I have been toying with in my head for almost a year now.  After reading the lesson, I sat down and, for the first time, fleshed out a lot of great details and questions for my first product / service ever.  After discussing it with my husband, we figured out who my first customer would be, and that was super exciting!

Just after the first week, I can already say that if you are interested in launching your own product, service, or making money in general from blogging, this is the course for you!

For more on information, you can check out my review post or see course sales page.  Remember, if you do signup for the course, we'll be taking the journey together and I will be happy to help you as well with any questions or concerns you run into, in the forum or privately by email.

Blog World Expo 2010

I have a horrible habit of announcing events, usually on Twitter the day before the event starts and well after it is too late to signup for them.  So this time, I am going to try to break that habit.

I am planning this year to attend the Blog World Expo in Vegas.  It is the largest conference for blogging - lots of big speakers + some huge networking opportunities.

Friday and Saturday are on my agenda, and Thursday is still up in the air.  Early bird registration pricing is good through July 15th - the weekend pass including Friday, Saturday, exhibits, and a few parties is $300 (going up to $395 after the 15th).  The Thursday Social Media Business Summit is $300 (going up to $395 after the 15th), and full access for Thursday - Saturday is $600 (going up to $895 after the 15th).

I emailed one of the organizers, and she plans on having some tentative schedule information up before the 15th.  If you have never attended and would like to get an idea what is usually covered, here is the 2009 conference schedule.  And if you are attending, be sure to register early to get the best pricing, and please let me know as I would am looking forward to meeting my fellow bloggers in person!
