[LAC Inside Scoop] MSH Enrollment is Open! + Launch Update Sent Tuesday, September 13, 2011
Hi Everyone,

It's been a crazy week at JBE HQ! I moved to NYC on Sunday night (arrived at midnight) and have been practicing life as a hermit while holed up working furiously on the Make Sh*t Happen course launch -- doors opened at 9am PT this morning.

You're the Inside Scoop crew (and I love you for it!) so I wanted to give you some of the behind-the-scenes launch details. As of this writing, there are 8 spots left in the course, so if it sounds interesting, click here to learn more and snag your spot!

Here's a short video I did this morning right when the doors opened...I was so nervous my palms were sweating!

I look forward to sending a more detailed update when the dust settles a little bit -- for now, I'm exhausted! But in a really fulfilling, goal-comes-to-life way.

Big hugs,
Jenny

24-HOUR LAUNCH UPDATE
-------------------------------
  • Doors opened for enrollment this morning at 9am PT / 12 pm ET. I was so nervous! I had butterflies in my stomach and was pacing around the house. I just wanted all the technical things to work, and was so curious to see how sign-ups would go. Thankfully someone signed up five minutes early -- which was a great omen, like a groundhog seeing his shadow as a sign of good things to come!
  • Half of the sign-ups came in the first 45-minutes, then enrollment came to a grinding halt. One or two trickled in over the next FOUR hours! It was odd...like someone turned off the Internet. I actually double-checked to make sure the payment page was working. I think it's a sign that the people who were super interested planned ahead, and the rest were on the fence or needed more time to think about it.
  • One thing I've been doing is saving questions people ask before and during the enrollment process to post as FAQs in the future. Just a tip for any of you launching something...big thanks are also in order for Andy Drish who helped more than words can express with all the sales copy.
  • What I'm most excited about -- the caliber of people in the course! It's almost not even fair -- they are going to make my job so easy! All of the people signed up are total rockstars, and it just gives me such joy to see how much they are going to be able to learn from and support each other.
  • All in all, today has been a huge success! I'm such a goal-oriented person that I had to catch myself from focusing on how many hadn't signed up and instead on what a huge accomplishment is to actually SHIP this thing and get it out the door. I'm ecstatic about getting the course rolling, and about taking a little breather once the sales phase ends on Thursday :)
What else are you curious about? I'll try to answer in my next email (but forgive me if it takes a while to reply -- I am very behind on email at the moment!)

SPIN-OFF COURSE IDEA
-------------------------------

Can I get your thoughts on something?

I was thinking about how much I've learned since I started working on this in January and I thought about putting together a 4-5 part webinar series on course creation that would bring in the experts I talked to about adult learning theory, metrics/evaluation (both of these are already in my wheelhouse from working on the Training & Development team at Google), how to write compelling sales copy (guest expert), behavior change (guest expert), and an overview about the course software I'm using (Ruzuku, with the founder). I'd also share my 3-tab 200-row project plan, naturally :)

Is this something that would interest you? If so, reply and let me know...I just love sharing what I've learned after going through an enormous project like my book and this course. It makes the experience so much better if I can help others at a "meta" level in the process!
