5 timeless ingredients to a life-changing recipe

Hi ,

Ready to make a change in your life?

To really commit to the people and activities that are most important?

To discern between the great and the very best in your life?

To single-mindedly engage in God's purpose and will for your life?

If you have said yes, then I invite you to be more afraid. Yep. You read that line right.

Now, to really understand what I mean by that, read it here!

from kathy's desk

The holiday season has come and gone, and we find ourselves almost at the mid-way point in January.

A new year causes many of us to reflect on the year past and have hopeful anticipation of the year coming.

I am looking forward to 2011 and all that it holds. Instead of making any New Year's resolutions, I decided to have a theme.

So, after several weeks asking God to direct me to my theme, I was able to narrow it down to three words:

COMMIT TO BUILD

Things like...

...commit to build my marriage to a new level.
...commit to build my on-line ministry.
...commit to build my influence in all spheres of my life.
...commit to build better health and habits.
...commit to build into the lives of the women on the women's leadership team at church

There's more, but I think you get the picture.

The bottom line: I want to commit to my life. To be single-mindedly engaged in the purpose and will of God for my life.

How? Along with God's grace and guidance, the 5 timeless ingredients will give me the boundaries, the focus, and the accountability to do that.

How about you? Do you have a theme for 2011?

Why not join me and follow along at KathyButryn.com and The Heart Change Place.

Have an amazing week--and so glad to have connect with you today!

hugs,

Oh My, It's Been Way, Way Too Long!

      Hi ,

It is soooo good to connect with you again! How are you doing? I trust that you and yours are doing well and enjoying the beautiful summer!

Here are some things that have happened since the last time we chatted:

I have a new job. Same company. Just a new position as a Learning Specialist. I design, create, teach/facilitate soft-skills training for the Investment Division. It really is a dream come true--I am so thankful. I am thoroughly enjoying the challenges it offers.

If you haven't dropped by lately, you will find that I have changed my websites from...well, websites, to blogs. Drop by for a visit - KathyButryn.com and The Heart Change Place.

I am learning how to commit to my day...which leads me to my next thought...

 Commit to Your Today
I'm not quite sure if it's because I'm about to turn 50 later this year, or if I'm finally getting it after all these years--today matters!

It's too late for yesterday and you can't depend on tomorrow. All we have is the present. Today.

I really want to make today count, don't you? But how do we do that?

You see, I find it so easy to get distracted, overwhelmed, and unfocused--and that all happens before noon hour!

After some thinking, reading, and praying, I came up with 25 Ways to Commit to Your Day--my own personal list of activities that I wanted to consistently commit to.

Will you join me?

Sign up on the form that you find when you click here, and you will receive 25 emails (don't worry, not all at once!!!!) that will help to support your decision to commit to a simpler, more focused and fully engaged day.

How we live our days
is how we live our lives.

Helping you commit to a more simpler, more focused and fully engaged life.

Quote

The secret to our success is found in our daily agenda. What
can you see when you look at a person's daily agenda? Priorities, passions,
abilities, relationships, attitudes, personal disciplines, vision and
influence.

See what a person is doing everyday, day
after day, and you'll know who that person is and what he or she is
becoming.

     -- Author Unknown

Hi ,

t's been a few weeks since we've chatted. How have you been doing?

I'm excited to share with you some things that have been happening around here.

First of all...have you heard about the Girl's Gathering Place yet? My sweet friend, Leslie Valeska, and myself thought it would be a great idea to create an on-line place---a Girl's Gathering Place---where ordinary girls can get together and chat about everyday life!

So, over at the GGP, we have a great 8-week FREE series on Blog Talk Radio starting on Tuesday October 6th at 10:00 am EST called PLANNING YOUR BEST HOLIDAYS EVER!

We have 8 terrific speakers joining us, talking about everything from simple gift giving, handmade gifts, financial planning for the holidays, inexpensive decorating ideas, tying the true reason for the season into Christmas preparations, food, planning your house cleaning...and so much more.

PLUS...BONUS SESSIONS AND FREEBIES!!!!!

Oh my! Our speakers and some other talented women have so generously gifted us with freebies, e-books, bonus sessions and even...well...I can't tell you right now. These freebies will be sent to you each Friday during the series. In fact, the first freebie was sent out last Friday. But you can still get it. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN RECEIVE THESE FREEBIES IS BY SIGNING UP FOR THEM.

Want to know more? Here's where you...

...sign up for all the freebies, bonus sessions, and other special extras!

...find out more about our speakers

...become a friend on our Girl's Gathering Place Facebook Page

...visit our blog. Be sure to subscribe to the blog so you don't miss a single posting!

See you over at the Girl's Gathering Place!!

Here's the second thing I am really excited to share with you today. For those of you who have been following me over the past several years, this is not news to you. You know that my passion is to help women cultivate a devotional lifestyle.

One of the ways to cultivate a devotional lifestyle is by connecting your Sunday faith with your everyday Monday to Saturday life.

To help both you and I to make that connection, I will be posting a Devotional Lifestyle Moment on my blog...Monday to Saturday.

Why not drop by to read today's Devotional Lifestyle Moment.

They can also be delivered directly to your inbox each morning by subscribing to The Heart Change Place Blog!

So, that's the news for this week. I always love to hear about what is happening in your life. Thanks for your Facebook updates, emails, and comments on my blogs. You are amazing!

Oh...and one more thing. Can't make it to the GGP Blog Talk Radio shows on Tuesdays at 10 am EST? No worries. Drop by our Blog Talk Radio show page anytime and you can download the show to listen at your convenience 24/7 or put it on your i-pod and listen to it as you drive or go for a walk! Cool eh?

Hi

Ever feel like life if full of ups and downs?

Just when you think it's all coming together then....wheeeee...down that rollercoaster track again.

If you ever feel like that (or maybe you are feeling like that right now!), take about 15 minutes, curl up in a quiet corner, and read today's Scripture reading.

Oh my, if there was anyone who knew about the ups and downs of life, it was this remarkable young man named Joseph.
Let's look at a few of those ups and downs:

It's true, we do have a few more months before Christmas, but it's never too early to start planning.

There's no need allow a busy holilday season to distract you from cultivating a devotional lifestyle.

The question is how do we live in continuous attentiveness, encounter, and surrender to God during the busy holiday season.

Bottom line: It's about the daily choices we make during the holiday season. We need to choose our pace, choose our priorities, and choose our peace.

That's this year's Christmas message here at The Heart Change Place, and I'd love to come and visit you and your women's group face-to-face to share it with you!

a testimony about MAKE THE CONNECTION

My life has been turned upside down due to both self induced and unforeseen circumstances. I heard about Kathy's Make the Connection seminar and thought it was exactly what I needed in this season of life I have found myself in. Each session caused me to step back and re-group in areas that I had so sadly neglected. They have helped me to re-focus on what is truly important in life...a life in Christ. The basic principles that Kathy shared are what I learn early in my Christian walk. Unfortunately, I got caught up in life and ministry and those very same principles got tucked away on a hidden shelf in my heart. When that happened I begin to think I could handle those situations that arose on my own. Then one day it hit me just how far off the path I had truly gotten and not really sure how I got there or how to even get back. By listening and re-listening to these sessions I have turned back to those principles seeking the One and only who can not only forgive me but help me get back on the path He has originally ordained for me in the first place. I have been encouraged that it is never to late. I have said it to others but as the rubber meets the road it has become more of a reality in my life.

Hi

Are you entangled by manipulation? Are you the manipulator?

Have to admit, this week's devotional was a bit harder to write...because it went to places where God was wanted to do a deeper work in me.

In reading it, He may want to do a deeper work in your heart too.

Sweet girlfriend, don't let that scare you. Enter into what He is revealing to you. When you do, you will experience His forgiveness and healing...and a change of heart from manipulative motives in the future!

Step out in faith my friend. Can't wait to hear about your heart change!

Read this week's devotional here.

(Sorry, no download of the devotional available today. A mysterious problem with my microphone, so I couldn't record!)
