Happy Thanksgiving

Whether you or near from us or far, we wish you a blessed Thanksgiving. Of the many things for which we give thanks, high on the list is the opportunity we have to practice faith, mercy, and justice together as First Congregational United Church of Christ.

If you have the opportunity this morning, join us in the sanctuary at 10:00 AM as the Lake Worth interfaith community comes together for a service of gratitude.

Advent "Testify to Love"

We are looking forward to preparing together for the birth of the Divine in our lives and our world. Join us beginning November 29th for Advent worship and visit our website for ways to help you escape the craziness of the season and engage your spiritual side in the weeks before Christmas!

Gratitude: A Cure for Anxiety

This Sunday we heard the advice of Jesus to notice the lilies of the field, to attune ourselves to that for which we can be grateful instead of worrying. You can watch the service here.

Poinsettias
Poinsettias will once again be available for purchase in memory or honor of a loved one or event. Please see order forms in this Sunday'sbulletin.

Advent Together

On Wednesday evenings during Advent (December 2nd, 9th, and 16th) we will gather together for a soup supper and vespers service of song, scripture and prayer. This is a a great opportunity to take a break from the rush of the season and create space for the presence of God in the midst of the sacred season. It is also an opportunity to spend time with the wonderful folks of First Congregational United Church of Christ! Thank you Janet Lisle, Nelson Stone, and Mary Ellen Bryner who will be making soup for us.

Mark Your Calendar

Tickets to our own Bruce Linser's concert in January would make great Christmas gifts. See more here.

Thank You
Thank you to everyone who made our first (in a while) Flea Market and Craft Sale a success. A great time was had by all. Thanks go especially to Christopher Lepard who organized the festivities, ably assisted by his husband, Barry, as well as our kitchen staff, vendors, and attendees.

Advent Day of Meditation
The Monday morning meditation group will hold it's next Day of Silent Meditation on Monday, December 7th, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Bring lunch, drinks and a jacket. Requested donation is $20. Call Nancy Lydon at 632-5040 if you have questions.

Online Giving

Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!

Facebook

If you are on Facebook, you can keep up with what is happening "between Sundays" on our Facebook page. First, go to our page and "Like" us. However, just liking us does not mean that you will see everything we post. Each of our Facebook posts only goes to about 2% of the people who like our page. To make sure you see everything, after you like us, go to the pull-down menu on the "Like" button and click "Get Notifications." This way everything that we post will show up on your own Facebook wall.
