SECOND-ACT NEWSLETTER
Curated by Nancy Collamer of MyLifestyleCareer.com
Dear Friends:

I've just returned from an amazing ten day cheese journey to Europe - a once-in-a-lifetime type trip that we took in honor of my husband's 60th birthday. Alas, as wonderful as the trip was, it's been a real struggle to settle back into work. So while I'm still daydreaming of French chocolates and wine, and knowing that so many of you would love to find a way to fund your retirement travel, I decided to dedicate this newsletter to ways to profit from your love of travel.

As always, my sincere thanks for being a loyal reader - and for suggesting your friends sign-up for their own free copy at  MyLifestyleCareer.com. Enjoy!

With gratitude,
Nancy

TRAVEL AND CAREER TIP (1): How to Profit From Your Love of Food and Travel in Semi-Retirement
For me, one of the best things about our recent trip was the opportunity to get to know my fellow boomer-generation travelers  - several of whom enjoy food and travel-related second-act careers. Here's a post about their second-act stories, written with the hope that they will inspire your second-act shift.
TRAVEL AND CAREER TIP (2):Top Ten Sites to Find a Property Caretaking Job
This is a photo of Chateau St. Phillipe, our home away from home during part of our vacation and a property that is currently being maintained by a lovely semi-retired couple from the US. If taking care of a chateau, ranch or villa sounds like an intriguing option to you, the sites mentioned in this post might help you discover a similar opportunity.
TRAVEL AND CAREER TIP (3): Tips for Retirees Looking for Fun Summer Jobs
The summer is barely over, but if you hope to work in the National Parks next summer, NOW is the time to start investigating your options. I wrote this post for Next Avenue two years ago, but the sites and resources listed are still relevant.
TRAVEL AND CAREER TIP (4): US Government Resources
The US State Department has compiled a list of very useful resources for anyone interested in working abroad. Well worth a look.
TRAVEL AND CAREER TIP (5): Working and Living Abroad After Retirement
Finally, this helpful article by my colleague Kerry Hannon offers a number of tips for people who want to move and work overseas. Includes links to a number of useful sites for people considering this lifestyle.
