Just for a Moment
I sat in bed, propped up against my 25 year old corduroy-covered pillow that has arms, on a Sunday morning. The plant in the corner that stretches to the ceiling, drew my attention even though my favorite CBS Sunday Morning Show was on TV.
I noticed some of the leaf edges turning brown, but it was the dust on each and every long leaf that jumped out at me. Then worry waved through me at that moment. When should I clean the leaves? Not now, I am in the middle of writing a book. I have to get my walk in, too. Should I wait until winter when I have more time? I can't tomorrow - I'm in the office all day.
My brain went on and on a few minutes until I made myself stop. I purposely sent my thoughts in a different direction. I envisioned the quiet, peaceful me, placing each leaf in my hand and with a damp cloth, stroking the leaves with care, taking the dust away. I felt myself moving into the moment, truly present with each leaf, truly present with myself.
Mark Nepo in The book of Awakening, says it stunningly.
"I looked a hundred times and all I saw was dust.
The sun broke through and flecks of gold filled the air."
Our lives are filled with rushing, filled with doing more and more...multi-tasking. Can you give yourself some moments of being in the moment?
Be in your moment without pressure.
Be in your moment allowing luscious sensual sensation.
Be in your moment feeling peace from inside out.
Be in your moment sensing stillness.
Be in you moment and simply notice everything.
Be in your moment....just for a moment.
The first weekend in October I gave a Medical Intuition lecture and had a booth at the Michiana Paranormal Expo in South Bend, IN. This was the "1st annual" expo but the turnout was amazing! I gave mini medical intuition readings and at the same time I drew a picture of what appeared in their energy field. I was delightfully swamped!
