Greetings from frozen Minnesota where the temp is actually above zero today!

Whoo ha!  And the people rejoice!

I am headed off to teach class tonight, but I wanted to get this out to you before I ran out the door.

I have a new blog post up with some fun hybrid training, including a video of me doing some fun squats in the Extreme Human Performance center in 18F weather.

I was so desperate to see the sun, I just had to open the door.  Brrrr!

Builds character, right?

Today's Tip: How to Lift More Weight!
You'll notice in the video that even though it was my last set of squats, my rep speed was still good.

This is key!

You want to teach your body that it is EASY, so you can lift more next time.

How much are you really going to do of something that is HARD?

Not much!

Keep the rep speed up and teach your body it is EASY, so you can lift more!

When you are learning to do this, you may have to drop the weight for a bit at first.  If you stick with it I guarantee you will surpass your PRs in record time.

I was able to make some good gains in my squat once I really focused on this (even though I should have known better).

Good rep speed = easy = lift more weight!

It will also allow you to lift more volume (weight x sets x reps) which is the second key component to overload.

Rock on

PS
If you missed it, I sat down with Mike and Elliott to chat about all things training and check it out tomorrow.  It is pure content and the only "salesy" part is a web link on occasion.  I will have the rest of the whole call up for you tomorrow!
