3 Groovy Workout Tips! Sent Tuesday, November 22, 2011 View as plaintext

Hello Beautiful !

How are you today?

I'm feeling fit and funky and actually very excited because on Sunday we have our 'High Energy for Entrepreneurial Women' workshop. It's been really fun working with the girls to plan the exciting and inspiring sessions for this one day workshop, and we can't wait to share it with our lovely participants. We have a couple of places left so it's not too late to join us if you are ready to boost your energy to take your business (or indeed your career - employed professionals will find this workshop as equally as rewarding as business owners!) to a whole new level!

So, are you ready? Great! :)  Book your place here >>

As you might have heard I have very recently moved from Stockholm to London and am in the process of creating a new life for myself.

I have got myself an office and a nice place to live, so this past week I have been focusing on re-establishing the exercise part of my life. Since moving, I have been keeping up with working out by running and dancing and doing weight bearing exercise at home, but I do rather appreciate having a gym or classes to go to because not only is it more fun to work out with other people and try new classes, but I also find it helpful to have set times to keep to ensure that I slot space into my week for getting sweaty and super energized!

Since I have been trying out new things this week I am inspired to share 3 tips with you today. I hope you find them helpful!

1. Try before you buy!
If you feel that you haven't yet found the type of activity that you love, then do make use of the free and inexpensive trial memberships that gyms and yoga studios offer to test out new classes and teachers/instructors. LA fitness, for example, offer a 3 day free trial and Fitness First offer a one day free trial. My very yummy local yoga studio offers a ten day trial of unlimited classes for just Ã'£15!

2. Keep up your energy!
It's very easy at the end of the day to feel too tired to workout, and instead of making an energy boosting trip to the gym, it's way too tempting to sneak off home and grab a bowl of pasta in front of the TV instead. You will feel way better physically and mentally if you do manage that trip to the gym (even if it's 'just' 30 mins of exercise!)...and if you really do want the pasta and TV treat then you can do so afterwards!

So, keep your energy levels boosted throughout the day by eating regularly. Snack on fruit, veggie sticks and nuts. Make sure your lunch is tasty and healthy (plenty of veggies and choose whole grains over eg white pasta. I love a good bean salad to keep me going!). I know one couple who train 6 days a week who make a batch of my fruity truffles each day to keep their energy up pre- and post- workout!

You can find the easy and yummy truffle recipe in my e-book!

3. Set a sexy goal!

What do you want to achieve by working out? Lose weight? Boost your energy? Tone up? Run a marathon? Set yourself a sexy end goal and then set smaller goals in between as milestones. So maybe before next year's marathon (!) you may want to run x km/miles in y minutes by Christmas. Keep that end goal in mind. Imagine how you will look and feel when you reach it...and on those dark winter days after work when you do want to sneak off home to your pasta TV fest, imagine instead how great you will feel by next summer when you look and feel fit and funky in the sun! Plus imagine how nice you will feel after that workout session today! Make it your goal to feel all buzzy rather than fuzzy! :)

Do feel free to share your own tips and experiences or goals with me. I really love to hear from you!

Have a great day!

Love, spandex and leg warmers
