| Shoes That Kill Feet | | Each day I see many people suffering from various problems like leg cramps, pain in their heels, knee pain, and even back pain. The main culprit for many is the shoes they choose to wear. Many people here like to wear flip flops or clogs all the time. If you wear them once in a while you would be okay, but many wear them all the time. When wearing shoes without a back strap you must scrunch your toes to keep the shoes on your feet. This causes a tightness in your arch and up your calves. Second, many people will slide their feet and not take a full stride. This shortens the hamstrings and quads in the front of your thighs. The combination of the these things will lead to plantar fasciitis, fallen arches, and low back pain. If you want to wear open shoes, I would suggest sandals with a heel strap. Your body posture starts in your feet, so be kind to your feet.

| Low Back Pain is #1 | | Low back pain is the #1 reason Americans go to doctors. It seems everywhere I go I run into people suffering with low back pain of some sort. What is even scarier is the treatments of low back pain. I hear stories of epidural shots, cortizone shots, hanging upside down, braces, and of course surgery. Don't get me wrong, these treatments can be helpful in special cases. However, 90% of low back pain is usually caused from the lack of movement or strength in your low back. Tight hip muscles are the main culprit of low back pain. Typical healthcare practitioners will look at the location of the pain and usually miss the source of the pain. Your hips can tighten by sitting too much, lifting heavy objects, or over exercising. One of the best ways to rid yourself of tight hips is to lie on your stomach and have someone pres their elbow into your hips. They will have to move their elbow and press. Your job is to breathe and focus on releasing the muscle that is tight. So the next time your back hurts try and let me know if it worked. Good Luck!
