Hi ,
Today is Presidents' Day, which means sales! I've highlighted many from our department store and discount retailers below. Several end today, so please hurry.
Also today, the next in a series of how to make your own veil videos. In this one, I explain how to figure out how much material you need, make a veil pattern, and cut the fabric. Read below or click over to view the video.
If you are looking for something specific--either for a client or for yourself--please drop me a line or leave a message through social media, and I can search through inventories of my 300+ merchants for ideas. There is no charge for the service and no up charge on the price (ie, you would get the same price as buying directly); I only ask that--if you purchase--please go through links on the page(s) I send you. My contact and social media information is here
.
Enjoy! Bobette
P.S. Have you downloaded the printable, interactive wedding timeline and budget checklist? If not, you can find out more and download them here.
President's Day is Monday, so that means extra sales! Here is a rundown of some of the online sales from our hundreds of merchants. (Note: To see all current deals, visit this page.)
You will notice a blue price tag icon next to each name. Click on it and be taken to that merchant's offers page, where you can see what other sales, etc. that particular store is running.

I recently announced the new How to Make a Veil section and went over the five steps to do that. Today is step 1-figuring out how much material you need and cutting it into an oval.
Before ordering the material (called tulle), you will want to give some thought to how long you'd like the piece that falls over your face, so you will have enough for both the veil and blusher. In fact, I recommend buying 2-3 times the length you think you will need so you can experiment and practice. The extra tulle can be used for a number of decorating projects as well.
The process of measuring and cutting is in the video below. You can also click over to the step 1 page here, where you will find full written information. Both explain how to:
- Measure the length of material you will need for both the veil and blusher combined.
- Create a simple veil pattern from wrapping paper and a large curved surface such as a hula hoop or end of an oval / round table.
- Use this pattern to cut each end of the material into a long oval of tulle, which will become your veil.
